I'm pretty sure you don't even need a GOTY award to make a GOTY edition judging from Dead Island.

People should judge the game itself and not their perceived thought that you trip over memes every quest and the irrelevant issue that Gearbox allegedly used Aliens: Colonial Marines funds for Borderlands 2. The game itself was super fun, ran well, looked good, and impressed me with every aspect. It also had some great (and not so great, same as the first) DLC.
How many disagrees am i going to get just because of the whole "i h8 gearbox now ther evil!1"
I'm glad I only got the krieg dlc, this GOTY edition sounds nice. As for the game itself it's fun in coop but I find it horrendously boring alone.

Getting really tired of GOTY meaing little now that so many games keep releasing as a bundled DLC version with the title right there in the name, even if the game wasn't actually a GOTY.

Seriously? Do you know how well received the game was? It also did incredible on consoles. This isn't the fact that, personally, I enjoyed the game talking. It was supported after release with multiple and fairly sizable free updates, DLCs, and character packs to boot. You have 5 hours, a respectable playtime to form an opinion but really, because you didn't enjoy it doesn't mean it's not even a candidate for GOTY.
How many disagrees am i going to get just because of the whole "i h8 gearbox now ther evil!1"
It really wasn't the great, it was fun. But it suffered from bullet spongy enemies, awful writing, uninteresting plot twists, dumb jokes and some odd choices as far as coop is concerned

Awful writing: Arguable. Uninteresting plot twists: Arguable. Dumb jokes: Yes. I'd like to hear your thoughts on the coop though. Yeah, that's called artificial difficulty, but Borderlands 2 isn't some straightline FPS game where higher difficulty only involves buffed enemies.

I'd just reached Sanctuary and done some minor stuff after spending an afternoon playing, quit it for the day and didn't go back, but that doesn't mean I hate the game - just never got around to going further. I guess I underestimate the game then because I haven't seen much of it, but I didn't feel like it was strong enough for such a title. But I guess that just means I need to put myself in deeper to it.
It's also a coop game and should be played as one just like L4D, KF, ect.
I never actually get the opportunity to play co-op with people much; i've never played an organized game of L4D or KF, only random matches. Mostly because every time I try to set things up with others, something always bloody happens to undermine it. Ah well. v:v:v
I'd like to hear your thoughts on the coop though.
I just generally thought the coop was made as an afterthought, when I know for a fact it wasn't. NPC's wouldn't refer to you as "Those 4 guys" they'd only reference one of you most of the time and ignore the rest. The loot system involved "First come first serve" and none of the characters synergized that well with each other. While playing coop with friends, I never felt like we were 4 heroes working as a team to take down the enemies, it always just felt like "Go do your own thing and don't die" with the exception of like, 4 skills. And call me bad at the game, but it always seemed like so many enemies would just 1 hit you without a chance.

They could have put more work into voice lines referencing multiple player, although there were lines referencing "The vault hunters". The loot system is just how it works, and how it works in the majority of lootfest games. Playing with friends eliminates the "First come first serve" aspect though. I like Diablo 3's loot drop system, but I'm not sure if it would translate very well "Balance" wise since there are many class specific items in Diablo 3, while in Borderlands 2 the main thing is guns, and anyone can use what gun they want. Skill synchronization is also something I can kind of agree on. They could have made skills work better together. But playing a Siren is really invaluable with the instant revive. And with the one shotting, it's a loot game, and if you aren't checking every green and above piece of equipment you are getting, the game will quickly become unplayable since you're simply undergeared. There are a few bullshit enemy types here and there though.
