The 17-year-old was apparently pulled into a storm drain by Arthur Elementary School around 7:20 p.m.

Another 17-year-old tried to rescue the boy but was swept into the drain as well, authorities said. He traveled a mile and a half through the drain system and into Cedar Lake, then walked to a nearby hospital. His injuries were non-life threatening, officials said.

I hope they find the kid safe somewhere, though that's looking increasingly unlikely. Also, this is the first incident of this nature I've heard of from the American part of the world in recent times; every time the rain hits our country, and some times when it doesn't, children fall into storm drains or dry wells and suffocate to death.

It happens during floods, just doesn't always get reported on. I've seen a few idiots run out into the flood and starting to go swimming and play in the water not realizing this could be them.
Hiya georgie.
Good rule, don't play in fast moving water next to a drain large enough to fit through.
