PC Kelly Jones Who Is Suing Garage Owner After Tripping On Kerb Is Also Suing Her Police Force
The PC who is suing a garage owner after she tripped on a kerb is also suing her own police force.
Kelly Jones is taking legal action against Norfolk Police for a patrol car crash in January last year, reports the Daily Mail.
The car in which Jones was a passenger ended up on its side after skidding off the road during a high-speed pursuit.
It is believed Jones suffered a knee injury as a result of the crash.
Kelly Jones was widely criticised last week after it was revealed that she is taking legal action against a garage owner after
responding to a 999 call at his premises.
It is said that the fact that she is a single mother of two has nothing to do with her being a money grubbing arsehole, and that she's simply following standard police procedure. Yeah right.
A reporter managed to capture this photo as the police constable left the station:

Why not just sue the United Kingdom for not giving you all the money you ever want?
Standard police procedure? Do police not have to sign something to say they accept that the job might be a tiny bit dangerous?
Haha this is ridiculous, they're officers who get stabbed and shes crying about tripping on a kerb.
How is it anyone's fault that you tripped over a curb?
I like how you all fall into the Daily Mail trap of looking at stories from only how they report in their beautifully biased way.

Well then, please share with us the real story.
I think we should allow a judge to decide that, instead of acting like we actually know anything about the story, making rash assumptions and acting like we know anything about civil law. If its bullshit, it'll get thrown out of court and she will lose her money that she spent on the case. For al we know, there may have been negligence.

No, she tripped over a Kerb

This changes everything.

Her grounds for lawsuit is;
She accuses the garage owner of failing to light the kerb properly and not informing her of the risk before she attended.
Does suing for that much really outweigh the benefits of having a stable job?

Police guidelines state that 'police women ' might be sexist, 'police force ' is too aggressive and 'accident ' because it implies nobody is too blame
I live pretty close to the garage in question, and in 20 years of living here have never seen anyone, or heard of anyone injuring themselves on or falling down that kerb. It's a standard height kerb, that is pretty fucking visible (it doesn't blend with the roads at all, even when it's dark). Why she's kicking up a fuss I don't know.
All I know is she's been the laughing stock of the town for such an overreaction, even her father insisted she drop the case :v:
Lol look who's back on the news. This time, with even more hunger for cash!
dumb dumb dumb dumb
This is stupid. Dont sue your employer for something that wasnt their fault.

it never mentioned anything about tripping on curbs!!!

It's their fault for sending her into the death trap known as the garage.

surely she was warned about kerbs, though?
maybe its just the UK, but that wouldnt fly in the US
I was joking.

which way? are you saying the station fucked up or the lawsuit would be laughed out of court?
which way? are you saying the station fucked up or the lawsuit would be laughed out of court?
Court case would be thrown. You pretty much sign your right to sue away when you're hired since you accept the dangers of the job and the possibility of death.
Standard police procedure? Do police not have to sign something to say they accept that the job might be a tiny bit dangerous?
Well, within reason yes. But there could be any number of reasons why she could claim compensation. Maybe a senior officer withheld information that led to her crashing? This just seems like unnecessary mudslinging. The claim for tripping is moronic, most agree with that, but there's almost no known details on this one.

Yeah. £44,000 a session. That would save money.
Failing to LIGHT THE KERB PROPERLY? Is she mad?
Maybe she should sue the kerb.
