• Extremely High CPU Usage and Youtube Issues (Very Old Computer)

Hi. Lately my CPU usage on my computer has been stuck at or near the upper 90's to 100. It goes down on occasion but only when there's nothing else running, where it hangs at roughly 20% and spikes back up on occasion. Meanwhile, youtube is unusable for me even at the lowest quality settings. This just suddenly started happening, it hasnt been forever. The videos play at half speed and the audio is extremely staticy and choppy. It makes watching any sort of videos very annoying, and it even happens when I have nothing else open. Heres my specs and two screenies of task manager: (It's actually single core, it's just split) (This one was taken with steam and chrome open only) Things i've tried already would be reinstalling chrome and using a different browser, all my plugins are up to date, drivers are up to date. I've run many virus scans and found many Trojan:Vundos, but ive scanned so much that i think they are all gone. I've fixed registry, cleared the cache, deleted all browser data multiple times, and run a memory optimizer. Please dont just say I need a new computer because I know I do, and dont suggest more RAM because i'm maxed out on RAM. Thanks a lot in advance, I hope to get this fixed because frankly I'm out of ideas.
Can you take a screenshot of task manager with chrome closed and the list sorted by cpu?
Can you take a screenshot of task manager with chrome closed and the list sorted by cpu?
Certainly. Sorted both asc and desc. Usage is low in the screenshot but it shot up to 65% shortly after. This is with all applications closed.
What is the average temperature of your CPU during high usage times?
mxtask.exe and mxtask2.exe are executables part of the "Avanquest fix it utilities", known for being a CPU hog. Try uninstalling that program.

Then use the built in Windows firewall and get a better antivirus like Avast! ?
I got rid of it for the time being, and it appeared to fix my problem. I really really liked my antivirus so it's a bit of a shame. Oh well, i'll find something else. Thanks for the help.
