• Is this what happens when you play too much Skyrim?

So I met this kid in my Sociology of Deviant Behavior (ironically) class a couple months ago, and he seemed alright. Extremely nerdy type kid who loved Skyrim with what seemed to be a burning passion. Anyway, I just got off the phone with my other friend and she said he rang her from the psych ward downtown. She said he thinks that she's a witch (a good one, though [?]) and it turns out he's been on suicide watch for a week now.. I knew the kid was weird, but.. Really odd thing is, back in 5th grade I befriended a kid with the same name who also didn't have any friends. Two weeks later, because I hung out with him, my other friends decided to make an ultimatum that if I remained friends with him they would stop talking to me. I took their side and had to tell the kid in front of them that I couldn't be his friend anymore. He killed himself that weekend, and his mother came to my house offering his pokemon cards to me since he said that "he would've wanted me to have them". Anyway. We're going in to visit him tomorrow. I'm thinking I should bring him something nice, I can't imagine he's in a good spot. He did mention two weeks ago that he was going to stop taking his meds, a suggestion that I advised against. I don't really know why I posted a thread about this, I'm guessing probably just because I'm quite concerned and need some input from my friendly Facepunch friends. Poor kid, man.
Yes.
She is a witch. You see a boy in 5th grade, he kills himself, witch sorcery revives him and he lives on.
But serioiusly, games dont do this to you. He had been developing it for quite a while.

My Scotch superstitions tell me she really is a witch, but only he knows!
My Scotch superstitions tell me she really is a witch, but only he knows!
Dude, who knows?
A 5th grader killed himself and his mother gave you his pokemon cards? Sounds sketchy.
Compare her weight to that of a duck. If she weighs just as much as a duck or she's lighter, she's a witch fo sho.
My ANCIENT SLAVIC SORCERY DETECTION DEVICE[INSERT TRADEMARK SYMBOL HERE] is telling me that this is a elaborate ruse, and that under the psych ward is an terrorist base etc etc...
You made a person kill themselves, good work.
You think a 5th grader would know that would be the result of it?
You made a person kill themselves, good work.
Thanks dipshit.
There are no good witches in Skyrim and the only witches in the game look like this : [t]http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20111120184012/elderscrolls/images/8/81/Hagraven2.jpg[/t] So your friend was just kinda nuts/very depressed. Chances are his depression probably just made him delusional or desperate for an alternate (better) state of things. Nothing to do with video games or skyrim in particular though, the same could have happened with a book, TV, a movie or anything else really.
You guys know? All these comments here are pretty good reasons to why I have 0% interest in Skyrim. The jokes are ridiculous ("Arrows in the knees? You need knee-pads, suckers!", "Fus roo-do? That sounds like a stupid catchphrase for spells...), at least if they're overused (such as the MLP jokes) [SP]Is there some way to extract resources from it? Because dialogue and sound effects are the easiest to extract from game files[/SP]

You do hear some guards saying "I used to be a guard like you until I took an arrow in the knee" but it's just a trivial piece of random dialogue they spout out from time to time. It's a shame the game's reputation is getting fucked up the butt by newcomers who make dumbass memes or by the modding community who is mostly made out of perverts who add dicks to werewolves or remove all underwear from the game (removing underwear was one of the first mods to be released btw, even before the actual release of the modding tools). It's definitely not the best of the TES franchise but it's worth better than that.
