Attention viewers at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration: Televisions will now be tuned to Fox News. CBS News has confirmed an email was sent to researchers at the FDA's Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research responding to apparent efforts to change the channel on internal television screens. The email from "[White Oak] Digital Display" sent on Wednesday, May 3, was sent to inform the researchers of the "reason for the change from CNN to Fox." White Oak is the name of the FDA's campus. The email goes on to inform employees that the decision came from the Trump administration. "The reason for the change is that a decision from the current administration administrative officials has requested that all monitors, under our control, on the White Oak Campus, display FOX news," the email reads. An FDA spokesperson got back to CBS News after our deadline, telling us, "There was no directive or memorandum from the Administration that went out to employees about broadcast news channels displaying on monitors in common areas throughout the FDA's White Oak campus."
If it's true that it came from the administration, fucking weird, if not, probably someone fucking with people.
"There was no directive or memorandum from the Administration that went out to employees about broadcast news channels displaying on monitors in common areas throughout the FDA's White Oak campus."
it's a prank Every other source is about the FDA denying the claim: https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/onpolitics/2017/05/05/fda-denies-fox-news-only-show-allowed-its-headquarters/101326896/ http://thehill.com/homenews/media/332133-fda-denies-memo-saying-it-only-allows-fox-news-on-tvs http://www.snopes.com/2017/05/05/fda-tv-monitors-fox-news/ http://money.cnn.com/2017/05/05/media/fda-fox-news-tv/ This is actually a good chance to find out which sources immediately and desperately jump onto stories without any level of fact-checking whatsoever though
this sounds dystopian as fuck
The title is misleading because your own article calls the claim into question.
The title is misleading because your own article calls the claim into question.
Title is pulled straight from the article, and I even included the snippet where they officially debunk it and I also commented on that myself. Mainly posted because if this is true, they probably wouldn't officially acknowledge it anyway imo.
If this actually did happen, and I worked in the FDA in a capacity that'd make getting rid of me fairly difficult, I'd definitely be bringing a hammer into work the next day. Fuck Fox News. Thank god it's not actually happening.
