On August 1st, Lego's Back to the Future Time Machine will go on sale for $34.99 from select retailers
a guy with close ties to lego reviewed the set here: http://brickset.com/news/article/?ID=6975
Must have.
That box art is fucking badass.
Is that... minifig scale? Oh my Christ, this is a LEGO nerd's wet dream.
now, that's what i like to see creative engineering with existing parts when they put out sets that use too many purpose-made parts it doesn't really feel like lego
It looks a bit crap tbh...
A shame it's not bigger. It barely resembles the delorean.
I want to be a kid again.
I want to be a kid again.
Don't be sad. Buy it anyway. You're not immature. You're a collector, with a fine eye for novelty memorabilia.
It's actually really bad, one of the Lego blogs I follow did an in depth review of the set. Here it is if any of you guys wants to check it out. Also it does have a PRINTED flux capacitor brick. I would have loved this as a kid.
I want to be a kid again.
This is the kind of toy you can buy as an adult with no shame. Everyone loves LEGO. Everyone.
I'm going bankrupt this year. With all the good video games coming out I now have at least 5 awesome sets, like this Delorean, and I have an insane urge to purchase them all. Also, I like the little details they put on the car here. Plus I have to buy bricks for a custom house... Just noticed the roof of the car is a bit small, I'd probably modify the design a bit myself once I buy it.
When is the game coming out then.
Too bad it costs more than an actual flux capacitor
The flux capacitor brick has a spelling error
I...I need to buy this.......
They should have made it bigger, IMO. It's a bit of a clusterfuck at minifig scale. The 1:10 and 1:17 Ferrari sets looked much more like the actual cars than the BTF Delorean does, though the Ferraris were a bit too curvey to properly be done by LEGO bricks at that scale. The only custom pieces on them were the wheels. [t]http://i.imgur.com/gE4H9rI.jpg[/t][t]http://i.imgur.com/nTdiTcY.jpg[/t][t]http://i.imgur.com/sJD92jg.jpg[/t]
Looks fine to me.
"sheild eyes from light" [editline]18th July 2013[/editline] oh the 1958 date is not an error, that's the date the lego brick was patented
Where can I even buy this in the UK? Looked around and this is US only? Also: http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/17399
WHAT ARE YOU SAYING I'M NOT TOO OLD FOR LEGO [editline]18th July 2013[/editline] I want this really really bad
$35 for just that? What the fuck happened to the price of Lego?
Big shame sets are only EXACTLY WHAT THEY SHOW and nothing extra.
YESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYES
$35 for just that? What the fuck happened to the price of Lego?
it's the current replacement for diamonds. i bought my wife a lego ring and she literally dropped to her knees and cried saying "why did you do this??? we're gonna be poor!!!"
Big shame sets are only EXACTLY WHAT THEY SHOW and nothing extra.
You can take it apart, I hope you know that :P
You can take it apart, I hope you know that :P
yes, but thats really not the point at all. You can do a lot, but you'd be able to do WAY MORE if they gave you extra blocks. All it is is a car. While it is reconstructable, its much more limited because of no extras. that and if you lose 1 brick, you can never build the thing as it is meant to be unless you're lucky to have a spare part already.
This should have been one of those 1200+ part technic sets. Then it'd actually look like a DeLorean, not to mention have an actual engine in the back 'n shit.
Man, that takes me back.
