2019 release but we won't see it on consumer boards until 2021 when new sockets drop I'd bet.
When DDR4 was new, I bought 2x4GB Ripjaws 2133 MHz for $34.99. Now it’s like $60. What a fucking joke these prices are.

There has been a lot of problems with productions and all that in the past year or two.
Also the reason why some other things like SSD's had a small price hike.
I might sound like I'm living in the past but is ram speed even worth it, I would rather have a slower ram that has the capacity of 32gb instead of a measly 8gb at the same price.

It depends. Ryzen is SUPER RAM hungry, so you want high amounts at high speed. I ended up at 32gb (16x2) at 3200 mHz more for editing purposes, but it also helps in regards to general use.

blame apple for the price increase, btw i'm happy to snag 2X8GB hyperx fury's for ~80€ when it was still affordable
I had to go with 4 GB instead of 8 GB because of the godawful price and needed a computer ASAP.
Whatever, thankfully not everything is memory hungry, but I'm gonna get 16 GB when I have enough saved up.
I got my Corsair LPX 32GB kit of DDR4 at £65 :v:
