Since i got my i5. I've got problems with the computer as random black screens in desktopt, games and freezing. I think it could be the temperature. all my drivers are updated. Spec PSU: 750 waty CPU : i5 750 @ 2.66 ghz GPU: Hd 4870 1gb Ram: 4gb Space: 206gb System : Windows 7 64-bit ultimate [editline]04:12PM[/editline] I can't even play gmod or test my episode 2 maps :saddowns:
What are the temps of the GPU?
43°c
Ok its not the GPU temp
I just started Grand Theft Auto IV. I got black screen at the menu for 3 secs then i alt tabbed. the temperatures were calm. What the fuck is wrong? [editline]04:31PM[/editline] it worked fine before i5.
Could be faulty drivers, have you tried reinstalling them?
No, i'll try later.
No, i'll try later.
have you even installed updated ones?
Yes i have, read op. Also it still happens after reinstalling drivers. this is pissing me off :frown:
Roll back your drivers.
Roll back your drivers.
Uhoh? why and how?
Uhoh? why and how?
Go Start>Control Panel>System>Hardware>Device Manager Find your GPU and right click on it and select "Properties." Select the "Drivers" tab and select "Roll back drivers." Sometimes when you update your drivers it makes your system unstable. Whenever you install a new driver on your computer, your PC will automatically make a backup copy of the old driver should the new drivers cause more harm than good. I had to do it with my GPU drivers before and it fixed everything. I hope this works for you.
Didn't help. I upgraded to windows 7 ultimate 64-bit now. It still happens.
PSU brand and specifications? The issues you describe could be the result of a trashy PSU supplying unstable and or inadequate power.
PSU brand and specifications? The issues you describe could be the result of a trashy PSU supplying unstable and or inadequate power.
well it can't be the psu. i got new one at 750 watt and it still happens.
Is your HDD(s) new as well?
You also upgraded to win 7 64. Cause my drivers for my gpu have been a bit iffy I sometimes get a black screen and other things with it. Idk how to fix it but I think it is just bad drivers.
Are your drivers 64bit because this happened to me because they were 32bit......
