• Corrupt Windows profile?

Im having some grim issues right now, I dont precisely know how they happened or why. I was playing Mafia II and because of an unfortunate explorer.exe crash in the background - taking me to the desktop - it caused a BSOD. (Id like to note that the explorer.exe crashes have been happening for a while, it should not be the cause for my problem) The precise same thing happened once before, but only because of me alt-tabbing out of the game. My memory is a bit blurry but as I recall, on boot-up and when trying to access my profile it told me it was corrupted and prompted me to use the so called standard profile, I canceled it since it didnt give me much of a choice, I thought it was going to harm my settings. On next boot-up it didnt prompt me any more, it logged me into my profile, and everything was fine. Same thing happened this time, except when I logged into my profile everything was fucked up instead of fine. The personal settings havent loaded, or are at least corrupt. Any way to fix this? [editline]07:07PM[/editline] I checked through the logbook, where all the errors are stored, apparentally I am logged in on the PCs standard profile, as it is called. Something is wrong with the ntuser.dat file, how can I fix it?
Open command prompt and type in "sfc /SCANNOW" and see if that helps at all. It has been known to help with corrupted or other screwed up files.
