A teenager has admitted pouring bleach over a mother-of-two who had asked him and his friends to be quiet in a cinema.
The 16-year-old walked up to Annette Warden, 46, in a restaurant and squirted Domestos over her head as she was having a meal with her husband and children.
"I was terrified and at the same time scared for my children," said Mrs Warden in a statement read out in Leeds Crown Court.
The family had earlier been watching Harry Potter And The Half Blood Prince at the Vue cinema, in Kirkstall Road, Leeds.
The jury was told how the family were disturbed by a group of rowdy youths who were sitting in the back row of the cinema, with one empty chair between them and Mrs Warden.
The victim said: "Throughout the film the group were texting each other and mumbling. Their phones kept lighting up and ringing."
She described how the defendant shouted, "Yeah, go on", at a point in the film when Harry Potter was kicked in the head.
Mrs Warden said she went to fetch a member of staff when the noise continued and the teenagers were warned they could be thrown out.
Later, as the family went into a nearby restaurant the defendant leaned out of a car and shouted at her, "You f****** slag".
The court then heard how the teen went to a service station and bought a bottle of Domestos.
He was driven back to the leisure complex, went straight into Frankie and Benny's restaurant and squirted the liquid on to the top of Mrs Warden's head.
"It (the bleach) kept coming and fell all down the right side of my face and into my eyes," she said.
"I didn't know what it was at first. Then I smelt bleach and my eyes started stinging."
As Mrs Warden was helped by staff her husband ran after the defendant but he jumped into a car and escaped the scene.
The mother was taken to hospital where she was treated, although she was not seriously injured.
The defendant has admitted causing Mrs Walden actual bodily harm but he denies the more serious charge of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent.
The case continues.
Be happy it wasn't acid
1 month in prison and 400 hours of community service.
Should set her straight. Bitch.
(Oh yeah, also a hefty fine that goes directly to the offended party)
EDIT: Appearently the bad guy was a guy.
I thought using bleach was kinda feminine.
You mean him, right?

It was a man who did it.
Also to the guy who said at least it wasn't acid, bleach damages skin and if it gets in your eyes you can go blind. :downs:

"people are telling me to shut up in a movie theatre, better pour bleach on them"
Should've added Ammonia to the mixture.
It was a man who did it.
Well that was a bad case of bad reading on my side
Be happy it wasn't acid
Yeah, if it was in acid solution, the reaction would have shifted to make more chlorine. :eng101:
Should've added Ammonia to the mixture.
Fuck bleach, I'd have purchased ammonia if I were that kid...
at least she didn't dye
hahahahahhaha. :-d
Sounds like a chav
The whole "i'm going to piss you off but if you say anything back to me i'll take it as a personal insult and attack you in some way" attitude gives it away
Stupid kid, should have poured the bleach in the gas tank of the family's vehicle.
Stupid chavs.
What is wrong with people? Seriously, if you can't behave in a theatre, why are you going? And what the fuck would inspire someone to assault another person like this? Fucking twisted. It's a shame that this is what happens when you do the right thing.
Be happy it wasn't acid
What grade are you in?
Be happy it wasn't acid
You do realize that strong bases are just as potent as strong acids, right?
Be happy it wasn't acid
What a punk.
When you go to the theaters it's pretty much expected that there will be people talking and at some points enjoying the movie so much they feel the need to yell at it. The only thing I can understand the women getting frustrated at would be the cell phones. Everything else though, they are fucking kids, let them be and watch your movie. Otherwise wait till it's out in stores and rent it like everyone else who can't stand society.
Is it possible to attempt to cause grievous bodily harm without intent?
Is it possible to attempt to cause grievous bodily harm without intent?
Like if you're driving your tractor down the road and you accidentally run over someone who you don't see.
But I'd doubt you'd get charged with "grievous bodily harm without intent" if that even exists.
