Installing custom firmware on a PSP with OFW 5.50 WITHOUT a pandora's battery?

Uh, title explains my question. Just dusted off my old PSP 1000. (Also known as PHAT.)
Anyways, I was stupid and installed 5.50 on it last time I used it. (Like, a year ago.)
I googled around, and apparently, "Chickhen" is out for OFW 6.10. Is this information valid? The PSP's rather worthless without CFW on it.

And just why would that be?
And just why would that be?
Because the PSP has so much more potential but Sony has locked down their device, and CFW can fix that.

CFW basically transforms the PSP from being a gaming console into being a handheld mini-PC.
Well, does anyone know if the ChickHen thing's for real? It'd be really awesome.
ChickHEN is "real", but does not work on 5.5

However, I read somewhere that it DOES work for 6.0 and 6.10.
That's done by another exploit, the original ChickHEN does not work.
Besides, making a pandora battery is easy; all it needs is a friend's PSP that is already flashed with cfw, and a spare battery. Using the service mode is absolutly fail-safe.

You wouldn't happen to know what exploit that'd be? I don't know anyone else with a PSP. :v:
The fastest and safest way would be to get a pre-made Jigkick battery off the internet and then you don't have to worry about destroying your current one or being stuck if you accidentally update to OFW.

I haven't been very active on the PSP scene, but iirc, all of the newer exploit that comes after the 5.03 ChickHEN hack requires a certain UMD game.
Go with pandora battery

And it would be free if you make it yourself. All you need is a PSP that is already running an instance of
custom firmware.

No.
ChickHEN is loaded into the main memory; and the custom firmware is gone once you power off the PSP. There are NO way to permanently write a custom firmware on PSP-3000 and up

He hasn't got access to a PSP with CFW. The only other thing is send your PSP off to people who will do it for you. Some modding forums have lists of members who will do it for you.
