Seeing as this movie seems to be lacking a thread, thought I'd make one. Basically, the movie is a "romantic comedy" of sorts about a zombie falling in love with a human after the zombie apocolypse has happened. Saw it last night on discount tuesday. Perfect movie for that price. I knew what to expect going in so I didn't have any huge expectations, and it was pretty good for what it was. What it is: a nice, laid back and enjoyable movie that never got really boring or felt too over the top. It's comedic but not a comedy movie (in the sense that there isn't a joke every 5 minutes or anything, just funny situations and comments here and there). If you have the capability to not take the movie too seriously, and/or are able to enjoy good "bad movies" then its perfect for that. It has this classic b-movie or "bad movie" vibe but its pretty aware of itself and is a nice fun watch. What it isn't: It's not super romantic. It's not scary at all. It's not super serious all the time, but it does have a semi-serious background plot to it. It's also not pure comedy, like you might expect from something like Anchorman. It's a nice sublte mix of all three which makes it fun to watch without being cringeworthly. All in all, I totally reccomend it if you are in the mood for a casual movie, like "zombie pop culture", and/or can get in watching it on a discount. At the very least its worth a netflix/DVD watch with friends once it shows up there.
I need more people to go see this movie because I need to know if it's worth my $7.
I just saw it. It was okay and occasionally quite hilarious. It alludes a lot to Romeo and Juliet, but in a casual (not, "Oh look at us we're so literary") way. It was kind of predictable, but it was in NO way comparable to Twilight. It was actually interesting. Just not too profound.
I thought it was a really solid film, had very funny moments, I was surprised how long it took me to spot the romeo and juliet allusion. Also that Nora chick was fucking hot.
I went to see it with low expectations, I ended up really enjoying it though - had really funny parts as well. The Romeo and Juliet thing took me a while to realise as well.
It might be good, but the whole idea of a romantic comedy with zombies just screams "too far with the zombie hype" to me
The entire plot was pointless and hole-ridden. If the couple can walk from the pharmacy to the airport at zombie walking speed (slow as hell) in a few hours (about mid-day to dusk), then why the hell does either a: Julie drive back to the city in the car when they're first taking it out for a spin? b: Why does the movie imply that it takes days to get back to the wall when they're going well over a hundred miles per hour on an empty road and they'd really only be a few miles away? Also the entire premise of zombies being cured by ~the power of love~ was pretty stupid imo
I just can't get over how the male zombie protagonist looks like new Dante. :v:
I saw it and thought it was awful.
