Yesterday, as a task force of 125 officers, some riding Snowcats in the rugged terrain, continued their search, it was revealed that Dorner has become the first human target for remotely-controlled airborne drones on US soil.

Asked directly if drones have already been deployed, Riverside Police Chief Sergio Diaz, who is jointly leading the task force, said: “We are using all the tools at our disposal.” The use of drones was later confirmed by Customs and Border Patrol spokesman Ralph DeSio, who revealed agents have been prepared for Dorner to make a dash for the Mexican border since his rampage began.
http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/376732/Man-hunt-for-ex-soldier-who-shot-police-chief-s-daughter-and-killed-policeman
And that's not scary at all!! Nope, not one bit!
It'd be funny if the Drone pilot spotted Dorner going into his own house [editline]10th February 2013[/editline] Chocolate Rambo sounds a bit offensive too.
That picture of the Predator dropping a missile is overly sensationalist. Doesn't the US use drones to patrol the border all the time? How is diverting some of those to look for Dorner any different? I doubt they are actually going to drone-strike him.
Does nobody else think drones are a terrible idea? We're losing privacy. I feel like a ton of people will just start shooting these things down.
It's like the plot for a Rambo movie.
Yeah they're probably not going to use ASMs for this guy. They're most likely going to utilize the find/fix method, then stay with him until ground units get him.
So they shoot at innocent people in cars wounding them, I can see this getting ugly when they blow up an innocent person...
You really think that we're going to thwack this guy from above don't you?
So they shoot at innocent people in cars wounding them, I can see this getting ugly when they blow up an innocent person...
And that's not scary at all!! Nope, not one bit!
I'm pretty sure they are using these kind of drones. They're basically remote controlled miniature planes and helicopters with some good cameras and longer reaching signal. If it was military drones, they would be interviewing the, you know, military. Not some police officer.
Lost my shit at "chocolate rambo"
So they shoot at innocent people in cars wounding them, I can see this getting ugly when they blow up an innocent person...
The civilian drones only have cameras.
They said in the article that they're using Themal Imaging Drones, nothing about combat drones. That image almost tricked me.
The government also has the authority to use drones to find and kill anyone that they deem "suspicious" and evolved with terrorism. Basically without any actual proof that said person is in fact, a terrorist. Obviously, they're not going to be shooting Hellfires at this guy, just using the same border-watching camera drones we've had for a few years.
How is this news? The only thing different from every other fucking day is that now, instead of looking for for people coming into America, this one is looking for one going out. It's routine shit.
I love this comment
this is why we need drones? and what happens when we arm these drones to fly around american killing government targets. and the president can kill americans abroud with drones, soon we will be killing americans at home with drones. how great it must be for the united states to be the leading terrorist state, all the while using terrorism as an excuse to murder anyone for any america reason. what a sick disgusting group of cowards.
AMURICA

It's routine shit.
First human target of drones on US soil. We better hope that the people operating those drones are more competent than the ones who shot up two trucks and nearly killed 3 innocent people already. you guys are misinterpreting this post,
Do you actually seriously think that they are going to fire hellfires (a think really designed to destroy Russian tanks, not people hiding in buildings but I guess it works just as well) on US soil? Do you want some tin foil to make your hat with?
you guys just assumed that I implied they were going to launch hellfires on innocent people, I was referring to the possibility of an incompetent drone operator causing more mayhem by misidentifying chocolate Rambo and then sending a squad of trigger happy cops to that location with the same shoot to kill intentions the LAPD demonstrated earlier.
I would not be surprised if this guy is in Mexico already
Does nobody else think drones are a terrible idea? We're losing privacy. I feel like a ton of people will just start shooting these things down.
Spoiler: you have no privacy. Not in the modern world.
I really do wonder how this is all going to end?
LAPD is really going hard for this guy huh

They REALLY want this guy dead/caught.

I dunno, there seems to be people who don't realise the biggest use of drones is surveillance. [editline]10th February 2013[/editline]
Does nobody else think drones are a terrible idea? We're losing privacy. I feel like a ton of people will just start shooting these things down.
I think you might live in a fantasy world, they are no different to having a police helicopter fly over and look for him. I guess the benefit here is they can look round the clock as the "flight crew" can be replaced constantly.
By the looks of it, everyone in the government wants him dead. What ever he knows, it must also go to a federal level.
Lost my shit at "chocolate rambo"
I heard some guy calling Dorner "Blambo", I laughed my ass of when I heard that word.
It'd be funny if the Drone pilot spotted Dorner going into his own house [editline]10th February 2013[/editline] Chocolate Rambo sounds a bit offensive too.
Chocolate Rambo sounds like a badass title.
They REALLY want this guy dead/caught.
Yeah, you'd think he was going after their families or something.
