Swedish police discovered to have illegally registered Romanis
• Swedish police have illegally registered Romanis, in a document containing 4,029 names from all over the country. The database is used in police work and can be accessed by a large number of employees.
• Over one thousand of the people in the document are minors. 52 of the names in the database belong to two year old children. They are on the list for one reason only: they were born into Romani families.
• It is not a record of criminal activity. Many of the adults listed have never been convicted of any crime. The document identifies family ties – it is a registry based on biology.
This, especially after the whole FRA <3 NSA deal, is gonna spark more debates in media about information gathering I think.

My hopes for this thread were high.
Whoops!
It's true they keep records of a large number people, but they don't do it simply because of their ethnicity. It's to keep track of itinerant criminals and their relatives. The majority of them just happened to be romani.
Something almost identical happened in the 60s when the police kept a record of communist activists, but because the majority of those people where jews, Säpo had to close the register.
Today, Säpo keeps a register of nationalists and conservationists such as myself (though probably not me because they're looking for militant and criminal people), do you expect them to close it down because the majority of us are Swedes?
Lets get all the racist accusers in this thread and then we can let this thread begin!

52 names confirmed to be stolen from innocent Swedish children.
Nice
