It seems neat as a battery for your computer but I have never heard of anyone having surge protection ever in my life and never that it would be a problem, but maybe it is?

In the event that a surge occurs, I'd rather replace a $40 quality surge protector than whatever the surge blows on my PC.
I'm pretty sure I don't have that, unless it's built in to my regular psu, a 600w Corsair. My guess is no, but then again, I've never had that problem or known anyone who has had it happen to them so it must be uncommon.

Your home might have more reliable power than most, but a $40 "insurance plan" now (and $40 is a shitton for a surge protector, $40 surge protectors are rated for like up to 2000W) is worth it to save you from having to replace hundreds later.
I’ve got almost this exact same model and it’s well worth it. Saved my work over a dozen times now. I have two gaming PCs with their accompanying monitors and accessories hooked up to it and it gives me about 5 minutes to shut everything down when running games on both PCs.
