But this is kinda good considering they have a plan and well ensures a steady supply of content.
Microtransactions.

Microtransactions on top of a P2P model? I wouldn't think so, and I certainly hope not...
This game honestly looks like every other dime a dozen fantasy MMO, and I have no idea why people are getting so excited on places like Reddit. It has the same gameplay as all WoW-Clones. I just don't see any true success, and getting some real TOR Deja-Vu.

I honestly lost every bit of interest as soon as I heard "Subscriptions".

Aren't Blizzard adding them in onto WoW anyway which has a subscription?

Apparently it's been confirmed.

iirc it doesn't have hotkey combat.
iirc it doesn't have hotkey combat.
Except it totally does. While you may not be stuck in place and in first person, you're not really 'shooting' your bow or 'swinging' with your sword, they instantly hit your enemies, It's just dressed up to look like you're directly fighting.
Aren't Blizzard adding them in onto WoW anyway which has a subscription?
yeah, WoW can do pretty much whatever the fuck it wants and it'll still be the biggest dog in MMOs for a while yet
iirc it doesn't have hotkey combat.
It does have some hot keys, its similar to the new Neverwinter MMO, where its just a small bar of them.

Have you watched any recent videos? it plays very little like WoW.
From what I've seen/heard, the combat is almost the same as Skyrim, except the ranged attacks are auto-aimed at the enemy closest to your cross hair, and there are abilities tied to number keys. Aside from that, I can't remember if there is supposed to be dodging, but there is blocking, so at least the melee combat isn't exactly the same as WoW.

You grossly underestimate the power of anything under the brand 'The Elder Scrolls'.
Don't get me wrong; this game is going to be average as hell, but it's still going to sell incredibly well to those looking for something to fill the void that WoW (and a slew of recent crappy-MMO releases) has left.
It also doesn't help that the people making the game have no idea what anything is lore wise.
Seriously, the Elder Scrolls are clan buff items.
I really don't think that a massive majority of the TES' series current fanbase (mostly "casuals" who got into the series with Skyrim) are going to want to invest $15/mo to play this. If the fanbase was still primarily comprised of Morrowind/Oblivion players I'd probably think otherwise, but I just don't see the majority of "console casuals" and the like who got into the hype of Skyrim will want to pay that subscription fee... But who knows. This industry always surprises me somehow.

Ditto.
fukken someone beat me to the stalin joke
End-game has to be good at 5 months? HAH! That should be on the 5 days mark.
Yep, sounding a lot like TOR "We didn't expect players to get to Endgame so soon!"
Despite the track record of EVERY MMO EVER.

Pretty much this. It used to be totally third person and MMO-looking not long ago, but they added the first person camera so it will seem great until people actually start playing it.
I give them props though. They've done a great job of making it LOOK like an TES game. The aesthetic is practically spot-on at this point. It's just too bad it won't play anything like it.

Attack is left mouse button, block is right. What else do you need?

same with skyrim, too! you're not actually fighting enemies, you and the enemy are just exchanging math numbers to determine health!!!!!
Attack is left mouse button, block is right. What else do you need?
That would be the perfect motto for this game, since that seems to be exact thought process of the people who are hyped on it.
"Year one, go Free to Play"
"Year Two, ruin with shitty store"
same with skyrim, too! you're not actually fighting enemies, you and the enemy are just exchanging math numbers to determine health!!!!!
...Oh come on, really Milk, I know you like to play devil's advocate but you're not even trying, your argument doesn't even make sense. At least in Skyrim, hell, Morrowind, you had dice rolls that were determined by how hard you swung, how long you held down the mouse.
Try again.
I'll just wait for the Skyrim Online mod. It should go somewhere right guys?
same with skyrim, too! you're not actually fighting enemies, you and the enemy are just exchanging math numbers to determine health!!!!!
Following that kind of ad absurdum argument through, writing in Word is the same as playing Unreal Tournament, because both involve a CPU doing maths at some point.
