The gradient doesn't quite fit it.
Too many gradient. ಠ_ಠ
Thats what i thought.. -.- im just gonna leave the side menu black. [editline]12:50AM[/editline] Hows this?
Getting better, now I would say add some more colour variation (Great colour scheme site, http://kuler.adobe.com/) try to make the main text boxes a more neutral colour as reading text over top of a bright colour can be bad. Those two suggestions should help make the website look less busy (negative space is important), lastly I would suggest taking the background out of the cell that the buttons are in. All those considered, it would appear that you have a decent foundation of web development knowledge, and so far are doing a pretty good job, I would suggest practicing the DESIGN aspect of web development though.
Thanks so much, i really appreciate the color link. Thank you so much. ill work on my color scheme
No problem, good luck in the competition.
Try whipping up some nice headers/buttons for it, there's plenty of tutorials out there. Photoshop is good, if you can afford it, but there's also Gimp, as a free alternative.
Gimp is great. Good communities for it too. I used it for years and it made getting into photoshop a lot easier. (www.gimp.org)
Gimp is great. Good communities for it too. I used it for years and it made getting into photoshop a lot easier. (www.gimp.org)
I used photoshop first, then after having to format, had to use gimp. It's more of a stripped down version of photoshop, doesn't have all the bells and whistles, but it still works great for many things.
i got photoshop cs4, and im not allowed to use tutorials. Ill use i got that for an accent color.
Ok, now maybe try making the content area a light/more saturated colour. There are too many reddish/yellow colours right now. The red is an improvement though. [editline]10:57PM[/editline] Oh, and maybe fade the background a bit, I know you want the Halloween feel to be up-front and center, but the pumpkins are taking my attention away from the actual content of the site.
