• Sleeping problems...

This Christmas break has been one of the worst for me. Not because of problems with my family or not getting anything I wanted for Christmas, but my sleeping problems. (In fact, I've gotten everything I wanted for Christmas this year) I'm 15 years old, and it seems for me that every Summer and Winter break, my sleeping schedule fucks itself up on a random day, which results in me staying up till about 7:00AM. I haven't been having any problems sleeping lately until a few days ago. On Christmas Eve, I want to sleep around 11:00 PM, and my mom woke me up the next morning at 9:30. Me and my family goto my grandma's house and celebrate and hang out over there. At around 7PM me and my brother drove to my other grandma's house and hang out with them for a while, until my dad comes from Clearwater, Florida to get us and bring us to his house. It's about a 2 hour ride from my grandma's house, so we decided to watch Good Burger on the way there (lol). We get there at around 1:30AM, and I instantly go inside and fall asleep. I woke up at 2:30AM to goto the bathroom, and then cannot fall asleep again. I stayed awake until 6:30AM (Which is about the time it is now)and then finally was able to fall asleep after staring at the ceiling for 4 hours. The next day I wake up at 5:30PM missing basically half the day. My dad didn't wanna wake me up because he knew that I was up late and have sleeping problems. It fucking pisses me off that I never get to hang out with my family during the day because of sleeping. I've already got dumped once because of this problem. And once school starts again, I'm gonna be fucked and I'm already having trouble with some subjects as it is. tl;drSo Facepunch, how can I get my sleeping schedule back on track so I'll be ready when school starts and can actually hang out with people?
Oddly I've been having the same issue lately and I know a couple other people having the same problem. It might be annoying but the best and possibly easiest solution would be to try staying up all night and going to bed early the next day. (Go to bed early to make up for the fact that you'll most likely sleep longer than you usually do.)
- I know it sounds silly, but masturbation releases endorphins that make you sleepy, try it before you want to sleep. - Valerian tea, very effective stuff.
if you keep your laptop right up until you drift to sleep then that could be the problem. i have loads of sleep problems all year round and get prescribed sleeping pills to keep myself in a shedule and i find that having the laptop on or any other sort of stimulation can keep me awake for hours after taking a pill whereas if i just turn it off i could be asleep within an hour.
just dont sleep
- I know it sounds silly, but masturbation releases endorphins that make you sleepy, try it before you want to sleep. - Valerian tea, very effective stuff.
That's not silly at all. A lot more effective than you might actually think. And tea is always good before bed. (Specifically decaf types of course.)

Pills
If I had a fucked up sleeping pattern, I would stay up for >24 hours and make sure I sleep at around 11pm.

It's funny, both me and my mother have the same problem, my fix would be: if you are about to fall asleep, don't, I know it's hard, but you just have to do it, or you can try to not go anywhere late at night, thats the two best things I've done.
Do you have any anxiety issues?
I've found that the best way to fix messed up sleeping patterns is to stay awake as long as you can (for example, if I woke up at 7.00PM I'd try to stay awake until at least 3PM the next day) then wake up as late as I can (following my previous example, I'd wake up at around 3AM). Then, I can just try and stay awake the whole day and fall asleep at my normal sleeping time. I'm doing it at the moment (woke up at 1AM today, it's now 7PM). I can barely keep my eyes open.
smoke weed erryday works for me
Try meditating or something. [editline]27th December 2010[/editline] And exercise daily.
try to exercise, meditation, fapping, don´t sleep for a day, listen to soft music so fall asleep easier, eat good food, don´t eat junkfood, read/watch something REALLY boring.
