So I just want to be sure that it is just the motherboard and not anything else. Anything I should do? Buy a fan or RMA? Huge Bump Things I've done are: 1. obtain a new power supply because the cooler master died out. I have an OCZ 650 Watt powersupply, cheaper, quieter, and safer than the cooler master. 2. RMA'd the motherboard. I installed it and all of the components. 3. RMA'd the processor, according to the motherboard - the first processor did not work. So I contacted Intel and they gave me a brand new Intel i5 2500k. Now here is the kicker... I install the processor and I still get the red light on my motherboard indicating that the processor does not work. This is getting extremely frustrating.
It'll probably melt the fan. I'd get that RMA'd, although I'm surprised your computer didn't switch off before it got to 100, that could damage other parts of your computer at that temperature
Let the pie finish cooking then RMA.
My Asus P8Z68-V Pro also reads as 128 C in speccy. Install the Asus sensor software that comes on the disk, and read the temperature from there. [editline]17th October 2011[/editline] ASUS AI Suite II

Is RMA really the way to go? Anyway to tell if it might be something else's fault or is it definitely the motherboard? It's such a pain in the ass to take the computer apart and I'd be stupid if I found out it was something else.
I doubt that is correct. Unless you forgot some heatsinks. What part of the motherboard does that indicate annyway? FSB? [editline]17th October 2011[/editline] Oh and read your temps from the bios.
It possibly is the motherboard, but that temps are wrong and it could also be another part. Could you post the windows log thing?
I have the same problem but my temps arent off the charts also after it shuts down, i cant start it until i wait like 10 mins :S there was a power-outage yesterday when my computer was on. could that have broken something important? :S

Also, apparently the temperature reads 25-27 Celsius for the motherboard and 50-54 Celsius for the processor.
i have to do that too, but i have to wait too. if i dont shut off the power, it will try to restart itself over and over again. it cant do it though, the graphics card fan spins like 3 spins then stops and then theres this green light on the motherboard that lights up. thats all it does over and over until i shut off the power
So the problem is not the motherboard, rather the psu? Am I right? How do I test a bad power supply?
have you tried restarting your modem?
have you tried restarting your modem?
the fuck are you on about? It looks like your chipset is running a little toasty, but it shouldn't take 10 minutes for it to cool down I think you might've half popped your PSU.

I had the same problem, thought it was my PSU but I RMA'd my motherboard and it fixed. No idea what it was. [editline]18th October 2011[/editline] Eventually it just stopped booting altogether.
have you tried restarting your modem?
Lol what? Google modem please.

I've RMA'd the gpu, and the hard drive awhile back. Should I just go down the whole road and RMA everything else?
have you tried restarting your modem?
Yes. When my internet did not work I tried that. Turns out, you need to pay the cable company to have them give you internet.
The joys of thermal armor!

umm.. what does RMA mean? :S
