[release]I've written and recorded two songs of mine and uploaded them to YouTube, my main inspirations are The Verve, The Jam, Oasis you know mainstream rock and roll, so far the feedback has been really nice so I thought i'd try and get a bit more publicity via FP. I write the music and the lyrics that go with it, although my uncle plays a few guitar segments (we're a musical family) anyway let me know what you think.[/release]
[release]First song i've ever recorded:

Great guitar work, great singing! The first one is very long but it's a pretty nice tune  The second one sounds awesome. It's that type of music that makes you eat the entire world.
Great job to you and your uncle!
Some tunes on the first song kinda remind me of Porcupine Tree
Thanks! Appreciate the support!
These were great, you have quite the voice!
where's the big fuzz guitar intro in the first song
i was expecting jonny greenwood to go CHCK CHCK and have a big sing-along chorus

Baha!
I'm going into a proper recording studio tomorrow afternoon! Dead excited!
I've updated my YouTube a little to make it look a bit more snazzy. I've also finished writing a new song. It's really fucking deep. Also when working in the studio we managed to get a song finished it's one my mum wrote about my dad when he passed away. Real deep and mellow. Hopefully should be uploaded soon, comment on the videos and give me some feedback whether it be positive or negative, every little helps.
Cheers guys!
Wow, that sounds like some heavy subject material. Looking forward to hearing it though.

No idea how it triple posted, I expected it just to update the previous post like norm. Ah well, what genre do you record? I love hearing independent artists.
EDIT: Also made the OP a bit more pretty.

On your page it says you don't have any tracks.
Ah, really nice. No crits here.
Liked the second one more though, the drums were really nice.

Still Alive And Dreaming
The intro fits the name really well, it drags on for too long though, the vocals could've easily come earlier.
You sound like you sing through your nose, nasally. It has a nice tonal quality and there is some power behind it, I'm not entirely sure on how to "fix" the nasal sound so I would advice looking for profesional help (why does it sound like such a terrible thing to say? I don't mean anything ill with that, I just think a vocal coach could help you fix that small error of yours. =)). The music and vocals are really soothing, I'm actually surprised it has gone four minutes already, because it feels like two. The lyrics are pretty decent, you deliver them well which is just as important as having good lyrics. Good job on that, it's not an easy thing to do and you do it really well!
I think having some more bottom to the song could do wonders, a piano accompanying the guitars would probably gel really well, or just a bass hitting a few notes every now and then. It would fill up the soundscape, so that the solo guitar can stand out a bit more.
Hell, just have the other guitar lay down some power chords in the background and it could be enough to make it bigger. =)
The other song
The bass (I can't believe I'm saying this) has too much bass, giving the mid-low frequencies some love would give it a bigger oomph, it would also mean the bass drum gets a little more space too. Not sure about it being heavier though, this sounds like the first song (musically) but with a few more instruments backing up, and I mean this in a go-
Ok, now I understand what you mean with heavier, what with all the distorted guitars and all that. It does remind me of the Verve a bit, with a touch of Manic Street Preachers. Some vocals rambling about something during the more calm parts, and vocals doing aaaaaaaaahs in a fitting melody on top of the distorted parts (and have some vocals sung during 3:25 and forward) could work extremely well I think.
The part after 4:11ish can work without any vocals though, it would be a proper ending to an amazing song.

Awesome feedback bro, the seconds track was actually the backing for the first song until we scrapped it and changed the vocals, I don't have that good of a voice to keep up with a tempo like that yet. With the first track being quite basic as in, there's only 2 guitars in there it was a case with us saying right we have 5 hours to do this, how can we utilize the time correctly without throwing a bunch of crappy samples in there. Yes I do agree that the intro goes on for too long, even when i'm playing live i'm saying to myself "for christ sakes Jake get to the singing already" I spoke to my director who is filming a music video for Still Alive and he said that we'd most likely cut it down to around 4 minutes which would be a lot better, seen as it's my first track and i'm really trying to draw people into this genre of music. If you have anything to say feel free to ask!
Very easy to chill to, if this isn't successful when you release an E.P I will be surprised. :)
Just set up the Facebook page, so give it a like!

Regarding the EP it will be out and on Itunes, don't expect it to be anything over £2, going to see if I can sell 5 tracks for 99p.
Excellent stuff dude. The overall style to your music is great. Well done.

Nice tunes :v:
I can definitely hear The Verve in the first one. That line "All the plastic people" made me think of Fake Plastic Trees.
The second one is great too. Reminds me of Explosions in the Sky somewhat.
That line was meant to mean people pretending to be something they're not, but heck Fake Plastic Trees is the next best thing!
You better get working on your next track bro. What you've got so far sounds fucking amazing you just need to spend more time on it, don't rush and make it the best you possibly can. Keep your mind set on doing what you currently doing and you'll fly. Also you'll then have to start seeing if you can play out in public places and get your publicity up higher than it currently is. Then boom, success. :)

Been some brainstorming going down, going to grab myself a Vintage V100 guitar, purchase some pedals, reverb the fuck out of them and get down to some playing my man.
New release! Kind of...

Very atmospheric... Very calm, I really enjoy this kind of musical composition. I could listen to it in every occasion I need to relax...
Specially loving it when 2:03 kicks in (Still Alive and Dreaming).
Actually looking forward to hear the whole thing, awesome work!
