More people in Britain are turning to Google to diagnose their ailments rather than going to a doctor than ever before, new research has shown. An analysis of Google UK showed that since 2008, there has been a surge in the number of people searching for terms related to their health, with a massive increase in people looking for symptoms of stress related illnesses. It's cancer.
I self-diagnose for these reasons: We're constantly told that people who waste doctors' time are scum and you should only go if you really need to. I look up the symptoms on Google to see if it's actually something I need to see a doctor for. Also because my doctors never has any appointments unless you're willing to wait 1-2 weeks.
What's this red mark on my arm "Cancer"
Why do I have a headache "brain tumour"
the girls i know always self diagnose and end up believing they have some terminal illness or something
Self diagnosing instead of going to a doctor? Sounds more likely to me that they're googling symptoms to check whether it's necessary to go see a doctor or not.
My dad had cancer on his list before going to a doctor and what do you know it turnedo ut as cancer everyone but me was joking around about the fact that it said cancer
The thing about doctors is that they cost money
Doctors appointments in the UK are free I think.
To be fair if you google "I have a rash and it looks like this" chances are an NHS direct page'll appear.
