The problem I am running into with large hard drives is not reliability, but transfer speed. I have many 3TB+ drives, and just started upgrading to 8 TB drives. There is a lot of room, but you are only going to be transferring 100-150 MB/s in the best of cases. It took me nearly 6 hours to migrate the contents of my old storage drive to the new one. This reason is one of the main appeals of large capacity SSDs becoming more attainable.
If you can get a 2TB SSD for a low price then the future is here and I want in on it.
Took me like 6-7 hours to transfer tv shows and movies from my old plex hardrives to my new 4tb drive. Having 4tb is cool but seeing 100~ mb/s write sucks.
