In the singleplayer experience, having a pay-to-win structure won't impede the player's experience with the game.
Pretty funny to see someone refer to their own game as "pay-to-win"

Thanks Bamco!
At least they're honest about it
I find that it does...
Pay-to-win usually means "buy power", not literally "you have to pay money to win." It's like paying for a cheat.
Pay-to-win usually means "buy power", not literally "you have to pay money to win." It's like paying for a cheat.
With how the term is thrown around nowadays, can you really blame them for misinterpreting? Not saying this because I think they are right mind you.
someone should make a shitty pay-to-win game and then use the profits to make a super kick-ass game with all the features that people want
This makes me uneasy about the new Ace Combat coming out in a few weeks which is another in the line of Namco's f2p games.
this sounds like a massive fucking trainwreck of a game
someone should make a shitty pay-to-win game and then use the profits to make a super kick-ass game with all the features that people want
watch then as nobody buys the second game because you chased off its target audience with the first game.
God that was disgusting to read

Then again, this is namco.
Can I have Soulcalibur 6 instead
This makes me uneasy about the new Ace Combat coming out in a few weeks which is another in the line of Namco's f2p games.
umm. yeah. so. Not quite sure how to tell you this but until Mechwarrior Online came into being, Ace Combat was the most expensive game in history in terms of DLC. All the DLC of the last iteration came out to 500 bucks.
Can I have Soulcalibur 6 instead
With even MORE customization than 5
And in a few months' time, they'll be wondering why nobody is giving them money for their game, they'll blame it on piracy, and then cancel the series due to lack of interest. You know, like Dead Space. [editline]20th May 2014[/editline]
umm. yeah. so.
Train. Simulator.
Train Simulator is justified because only old farts with a ton of disposable income play the game. You know, the same guys who drop 4000 USD on a model train. I have 161 hours played in Train Simulator and I have not bought DLC.

I just hold out some small hope that my beloved AC series won't be drowned in an attempt to turn gaming into mobile gaming

I don't think we have cause for concern.
What Soul Calibur has become is embarrassing. I wouldn't trust BAMCO with any long standing series at this point.
After the money-grubbing travesty that was the Tales of Phantasia port on iPhone, this really doesn't surprise me. I have less trust in Bandai Namco, business practices wise, than I do Activision and Capcom combined.

Every single namco game has dlc out the ass at outrageous prices.
I was expecting to come in here and chew the OP out for putting quotation marks around things that weren't actually said, but holy shit
Tried it for a bit. They don't even try to hide it's a gutted SCV. Same music, same menus, same graphics, same.. everything.
"Overwhelming dislike"
Ubi's seemed to be doing pretty well thus far... I don't think we have cause for concern.
he was talking about Ace Combat not Assassins Creed you dingus
He actually used the term 'pay-to-win' when describing his own game? That's new levels of just plain giving up.
They aren't even ashamed they're out for the so-called whales.
Can I have Soulcalibur 6 instead
Or at least Broken Destiny 2 so there can be portable SCV.
