(CNN) - Clint Eastwood isn't pleased with the job Congress is doing.
"It's almost like they don't give a damn," he said Friday in an interview with CNBC. "So if they don't give a damn, why do they expect anybody else to?"
maybe he should make another speech about it...
he could talk to 100 empty chairs.

oh wait the 100 empty chairs would probably be the audience turnout.
"It's almost like they don't give a damn,"
Well duh.
Newsflash: No one is, Except the people who are the reason we arn't satisfied.
Congress has like a 5% approval rating as a whole.

I wanna know who those 5% are. Who are these people who think congress is actually doing a good job?
I wanna know who those 5% are.
Well, we already know who constitutes 1% of the approval rating, but I'm stumped on the other 4%.

Congress.
Congress.
and the people who pay them to make laws that support them, rich people...
He's old enough to have seen the change.
Him and 95% of America.
They should just pick up a phone book and randomly select names off of it and they'll be sent to Congress for a term.

Congressional Jury Duty

That is actually an interesting concept. Probably wouldn't work, but I would be interested to see what happens
I'm from fucking Canadian and I'M not satisfied with the work Congress is doing. It should be a law or something where if their approval rating drops below 50%(being generous here) they get fucking canned.
I think people should start doing some recalls on these guys.

That isn't a good idea for several reasons, for example look at the Civil Rights movement in the 1960s. Sometimes what is popular isn't always right.

If something is grossly unpopular, generally there's a good chance that something is very wrong with it.
An automatic eviction from the position if their approval ratings drop too low isn't an optimal solution, but they should at the very least be put on thin ice.

The answer is simple. If your representative is doing a shitty job, don't vote to re-elect them. Spread the word that they're shit.
It is equally important to get informed about proposed legislation and inform your representatives on how you'd like them to vote. After all, their job is to represent your voice in government. When no one tells them what to do, they kind of just do their own thing, which is what we're seeing now.

Except that there are places where people would say "our rep supports gay marriage kick him" or "our rep supports peace between Israel and Palestine kick him"

Those people are drones and there is nothing you can do to change their minds about anything.

Yes, and in those places those types of people can outnumber the sane people.

I wasn't proposing that as the best and only solution. I was only throwing out the idea where if they do a continually shit job they can lose it just like everyone else with a job. If I work as a mechanic fixing cars and do a crappy job I'm eventually gonna get my ass fired.
