Help me find this creepy book I remember from my day care center of long ago.

Hello, Facepunch. When I can't find something on google, you guys are pretty good at finding it.
Well, where do I start? I'm looking for a book. A picture book. For children.
It was one of those "scary" books made for young readers. It's sentences were short, and easy.
I found this thing at my day care center back in like, Kindergarten or something.
I AM 99% SURE, that it's title was: "The Bugly"
But I can't find anything remotely similar to what I'm searching for on google.
Oh yes, I've tried changing the title a bit, using different spellings, including:
The Buglie
The Gulby
The Bulgy
Nothing works. Right now, my only evidence that this book ever existed is my memory.
I think that there's gotta be someone on here who's at least heard of it!
Ah, yes, "what was it about?"
I remember the story going something like this, narrated in 1st person:
---------STORY-----------
The narrator goes to the swamp (they might've said they were looking for 'The Bugly', not sure)
I think the swamp had a name, some shit like "Goobldy Gook Black Swamp"
The Bugly (an featureless black figure except for its red circle eyes) rises out of the black, murky water at the edge of the swamp.
The narrator (understandably) regrets their decision and starts running back, resulting in The Bugly chasing them.
The damn thing follows them all the way home to their little house,
and keeps coming closer and closer now that the narrator is cornered.
The Bugly runs down the path, right towards the reader, closer and closer until it's face fills the page.
The narrator then wakes up, it was all a dream.
I have crudely thrown together an mspaint rendition of what I recall some of the pages looking like.
It turned out a it more accurate than I imagined it would. The art style, especially on the Bugly, was very scribbly.

Please, PLEASE. If you know ANYTHING, tell me. Even if it's the slightest hint of memory comment that.
I need proof that this book EXISTED. If you've never heard of it, tell me you've never heard of it.
If too many of those come in, I'll know it's likely gone forever or never was.
it never existed
