We had to draw a bird for our drawing class, so I chose a Hawk. Done from a photo on A3 size.

Very nice! :buddy:
This drawing represents the level of skill I can only wish to have (for now).
What tools did you use?
Why did i read the title as "Penis drawing"? Anyway Nice.

Thanks :D A 2B pencil and an eraser.
What size is it?
Nice textures.
It still feels somewhat uncompleted though :/

Ha no way, I get angry at HB's because I always end up smudging them everywhere - somehow.
The thing that annoys me the most is I haven't gotten round to buying a good erasor, and I don't always notice the one I have is dirty, then I try to rub out and BAM smudge mark, STUCK FOREVER ON THE PAGE.
I poo my pants.
Then cry.
Yeh I agree, but we had a deadline and to be honest, I'm pretty sick of working on it at the moment. I might go through it again soon.
I can very much relate, I get bored easy with work, but working on the same piece for AGES? I just don't wanna touch it after a while.

DiN A3? You european?
Pretty good for such a large sheet. thumbsup :)
Australian. It's 297mm(11.7in) × 420mm(16.5in)
I thought A sizes were standard? A3 is 297mm x 420mm over here too. (UK)
Nice drawing, you really got the tone in here which is a big problem with a lot of artists. Well done :)
That is just amazing. Rated artistic :buddy:
Lovely compositon. Did ya use the grid method or some shit?
The peak seems a bit skewed and bent in weird dimensions and while you did feathers by drawing lines from the root to the edges like it should, you did some feathers where you ingored that general rule or just covered it with even grey.
there's alos this big block of sloppy shading and eraser marks.
If I could draw something like that, I would be amazed at myself.
Wow, how long did this take?
Oh i love this :). Brilliant tonal range and general realism! I absolutely adore the feathers on the left. Rated artistic!
One thing though, you have some really harsh lines in there such as the texture under the eye: a lighter line and some smooth shading might add to the life of the drawing.

No grid, I will admit the photo I drew it from already had a good composition. Yes there are definitely some sloppy areas.

I am a fairly slow drawer, 5+ hours (a guess, I am terrible at gauging time). It was over the course 3 weeks, as I generally only worked on it in class.
5 hours is quite fine, I do shit like that for few weeks due to extreme lazyness.
