I've just bought a second monitor because I was tired of not being able to read shit while ingame without alt tabbing, but I have a question, is there any way to make it like that I have to hold like alt down for it to go to the other screen? I have it set to top left corner so it gets a bit annoying.
No, I mean like, I have it set so whenever my mouse goes to the top left corner of the main screen, it pops to the bottom right of the secondary screen, I want to make it so that the cursor won't switch screens unless I hold down a modifier, like alt.
There are a few multi-monitor apps out there, I've tried a few and most really are garbage, not free, or made for XP. As far as win7 goes, not much out there.
I'm using an nvidia card and I don't have that problem. First thing I'd do is roll back or upgrade video drivers, followed by formatting windows if causing extreme annoyance.
Is it only doing this with a specific game/application or is it everything?
Oh, you just have the secondary desktop set to be next to and above the first, like diagonally. You can change that within your gpu driver software, should be under a tab called "desktop management" or something along those lines.
I guess I wasn't explaining it well enough, like right now it's fine, it doesn't roll over to the next screen when ingame etc, but I want that out of game too, and like activate it by holding down a modifier key, like alt for example.
I really don't know how to explain it, THE MOUSE WORKS JUST AS IT SHOULD, so does the screen switching, what I want is a modifier key to make it so it won't switch screens unless I hold that key down and move the cursor to the other screen.
I don't understand at all.
Well, it works perfectly fine right now, there's nothing wrong with it, BUT, sometimes I accidentally switch screens when trying to go back in firefox or something, and it's getting a bit annoying, so I want to know if it's possible to use a modifier key to make it so that it won't switch screens when I get to the edge, UNLESS I hold down the modifier key, like alt for example.
guys he wants it so IF he holds down alt, the mouse can enter the other screen, otherwise it is just blocked as though the primary monitor is the only one active.
I don't think that's possible. I may be wrong though.

Just set your screens up like this and you're really unlikely do accidentally go to the other, since you have to go straight to the corner. You should rarely be using the bottom right anyways, afaik, I don't think that much goes on down there.
