So after 4 years with being with Verizon Wireless, I'm switching over to AT&T. I'm getting a smart phone, the LG eXpo, and I'm confused as to the required data plans I'm required to pay for a smart phone. For a minimum data plan, I have to pay $15/month, but the AT&T website won't show me what I get with that sort of deal, does anyone have any insight on this? I googled and found nothing... Also, does anyone know how much I would have to pay monthly? Thanks!
first off ...why are you switching over to pay more and getting a shitty phone? i don't know what phone you have now, but switching to a different carrier just to pay more and get a turd phone is really a bad idea.
anyway
$15 per month gets you a crappy 250MB data cap
$25 per month gets you a less crappy 2GB data cap
there's no option for unlimited, but when it was there it was $35.
what you pay monthly depends entirely upon what you get with your plan, just set it up, you don't have to finalize it or anything like that, you just get an idea of what the bill would look like. it's like going to Amazon and adding a bunch of shit to your cart just to see how much it would cost, you don't have to buy any of the stuff you put in your cart.
Don't switch to AT&T. I'm stuck with them right now and they have maybe 2 good phones (not counting iPhones) and their service sucks.

Fixed.
Don't get AT&T EVER.
Get Sprint, which has unlimited everything with 4g speeds for only $69 a month. Or T-Mobile. I've been with them for 4 years and never had any problems.

I've been with T-Mobile for a long time, I reccomend them, but I just switched over to boost mobile and they have been good so far.
Yep, I will always love T Mobile for some strange reason. I've moved from Washington, to Nevada, to Oregon, to California, and then to Texas with them and never once have I ever gotten a dropped call. Ever.

ah thanks. when I had it though it was $35, forgot it dropped to $30.
fuck that makes $25 for a 2GB limit even worse...

Sprint, T-Mobile, and Boost are the most affordable right now. all three are sort of hurting (didn't Sprint overtake Boost, anyway?), so they have the chaepest prices, with Sprint you can have unlimited text and web and 450 minutes for $70, $80 with unlimited 4G.
We switched from Verizon (ex-Alltel customers) to Sprint, and I couldn't be happier. Better service and better call quality, for a lower price. Plus, with the family plan we have, there's free calls to ANY other cell phone, on any carrier, free nights and weekends, unlimited data, unlimited text etc etc for less than we used to pay with Verizon (and Alltel). So I would recommend switching to Sprint, if I were you.
depends, if you get one of the only two good phones Sprint has right now, Evo and Epic, you'll have to pay the 4G premium and would pay the same as you would for Verizon (sans 4G of course)

Moment and Hero are good for now (I have a Moment, personally) until the Moment 2 is out.
