Can someone open this file, screenshot it (capturing top/bottom), sew it together, and give me the resulting image? I don't have the newest office, and every conversion service I've tried (Zamzar/google docs) hasn't been able to retain any of the math symbols and shit.

Awesome, thanks!
Of course, any time. I recommend checking Open Office out if you can't afford the latest Office.
It supports .docx file formats, and is free. http://www.openoffice.org/
I recommend OpenOffice regardless. I find it much better than office 2007 (If thats what you're using)
I recommend OpenOffice.org over MS Office 07/10
Also, can MircoShit export DIRECTLY to PDF Format? :smug:

Åhm, you can't read a single word in there.

He's right, OpenOffice is so much better than Office 2007, I have been scarred for life by the Office new interface.

Not that I disapprove of OOo, you can export to pdf. I know because I have done it.

I thought it was Oracle, no?
And it's not Java, it's Sun.

Nope, StarDivision.

How often do they change ownership? :psyduck:

Surprisingly it can. For some reason they don't include it by default, but a free download from the Microsoft website allows you to save to PDF.

It's arguably one of the best interfaces that has been on Windows.
It's arguably one of the best interfaces that has been on Windows.
I have to say the 2007 interface was terrible but the 2010 interface is far better for looks and functionality.

2010's looks pretty good, but 2007's is just HORRIBLE. You can't find anything.

At the beginning it was StarOffice by StarDivision, then they got bought by Sun and became OpenOffice.

Au contraire, you can easily find everything.

Lol "MircoShit" look at this Internet tough guy fanboy everybody.
Get off your high horse. MS Office is great, and in my opinion, better than OpenOffice.org
And, Yes. I've tried both over an extensive period of time, have you?
And as previously stated, Office can export to PDF.
MS Office > OOo
But if you are on a budget or don't condone piracy, then it is definitely a viable alternative :D
As for the PDF thing, I just use CutePDF Printer, it makes for a more standard print method in all my applications. It is also how I save invoices and emails I need to document, etc.
I've just had a new PC in work.
Win 7 :neckbeard:
Office 2007 :suicide:
People still complain about the Ribbon interface? Wow.
I tried using OOo a number of times, and it's a decent suite of programs, but Office is still much better. It doesn't take that long to relearn the ribbon UI (not any longer than relearning the OOo equivalents of Office 2003 functionality), and it's much more logical than a set of file menus, really.

What can I say, I live in the past.
I love the new interfaces for Win7 but I don't see why I have to spend so much time (company time) learning an interface for office when I was perfectly happy with the one I've been using for the last 15 years.
To me it looks ugly too. Having everything tucked away in a little bar seemed to take up so little space compared with the ribbon. Everything looks big and blobby like it's been designed for children. I wouldn't mind if there was some choice, but it's just
"Hi. We've decided that you need to have a new interface. Here it is"
"Can I put the drawing tools in a bar on the bottom, I use them a lot..."
"No! This is the new interface, and you'll like it eventually"
"Well could I..."
"NO"
"Bu..."
"OK, you want customisation? FINE! Here's a crappy little bar right at the top you can put a few things on"
Ahhh. That's better. I needed a rant
OpenOffice is good with most things but i find its horrible with office formats
If you only use OO.org then it would be ok but given the fact 80% of computers you will use (apart from your own) will only have office your better off just getting it
Appart from if you cant afford it/ are using linux
uhhh, shouldn't this thread be dead by now?
Wow. A simple favor, that was done on the first reply, asked and it turns into a flamewar. Seriously what the fuck is wrong with you people.
That's not really a flamewar. It's kinda hot in here but tht's still ok.
Sorry, you need to Log In to post a reply to this thread.
