Writing to his friend Laurens van der Post, the Prince argued that the exodus of European Jews in the middle of the last century “helped to cause the great problems” in the Middle East. “I now appreciate that Arabs and Jews were all a Semitic people originally and it is the influx of foreign, European Jews (especially from Poland, they say) which has helped to cause the great problems,” the Prince wrote in a letter published by the Daily Mail.
Interesting, did not know that the jewish lobby was an actual thing.
Certainly not the escalation driven by European and American money for ressource interests and the Cold War. :downs:
Interesting, did not know that the jewish lobby was an actual thing.
the only “interesting” thing about this is the hypocrisy of how britain was the equivalent of a schizophrenic parent to both arab states as well as a young israel in the period he’s referencing
Interesting, did not know that the jewish lobby was an actual thing.
I thought it was pretty well known that the Jewish lobby in the United States is a thing, and it's a large part of why the US is so blindly pro-Israel from time to time?
Certainly not the escalation driven by European and American money for ressource interests and the Cold War. :downs:
Or going back further, European powers treating the Middle Eastern territories as pieces on a chess board, powerless, exploited, and subject to change with the movements of empires. Then, come decolonization, pulling out too quickly and not giving much attention to creating a stable society before we went. Not even giving them proper borders, resulting in endless ethnic clashes.

It's a pro israel lobby and has pro Israel Christians, Jews, technology companies, defense companies, etc supporting it

I guess that sort of perception is what I get for spending a fair few of my politically formative years on some pretty heavily right-wing corners of the web. v:v:v
Charles really can't become King. Unfortunately it would ring very true with the current feeling of Britain being US's baby brother in not giving a fuck what we say and who it hurts.
Even more of a reason to not like the British monarchy.
i still don't get what the fuck "the jews" have even actually done you get angry morons who use them as scapegoats for everything because it gratifies their need to blame something somewhere, something that isn't themselves you get political manipulators who use them as scapegoats for everything because it furthers their agenda, possibly exploiting those who fit the first description these two common versions i can "understand" in a somewhat logical sense, and they're the sort that you can easily fit dictators and extremists into. Wouldn't expect to find Prince Charles in either of these two groups though (or, well, maybe the latter) i read the article and i am not buying the spokesperson's explanation that these views "were not his own", it just smells of damage control. so what could be Charles' excuse for holding opinions like this? what the heck have "the jews" ever done to him?
If Charles becomes King, the monarchy is doomed. The only thing holding it together was how lovable Liz is. Charles has been hated quite resoundingly ever since the divorce, and eventual death of Princess Diana. Stuff like this is not going to help that at all; especially since his great-uncle King Edward VIII of the same house, was a nazi sympathizer.
i still don't get what the fuck "the jews" have even actually done
There was a large influx of Jews emigrating to what is now Israel in the early 20th century, and Charles is saying this is the cause of ethno-religious tensions in the Middle East. [editline]14th November 2017[/editline] His letter is stupid though because it's not like the US getting rid of the Jewish lobby would make them leave, they've been there for generations, it's their homeland now.

It's not like they didn't try though. Imagine how better off the Middle East would have been if all those Jews were to stay in Poland during the war.
