If you have a router hooked up, reboot it. I tend to do this when my ping spikes like this and I can't wait it out and it'll go back to normal afterwards.
simple question but are there torrents uploading/downloading on any of the computers on your network?

Also this. Even if rebooting the router (if OP has one) doesn't fix it, shutting off any torrenting programs will free up a lot of bandwidth.
did you remember to attach the G928 to the motherboards SSUEIK drive? It's an really important thing when playing garrysmod online with a 0XGMD0 Motherboard

Do a quick http://speedtest.net/ and http://pingtest.net/ and post the results here.
Do your download/upload speeds look normal?
There is nothing downloading on any of the computers on the network - I made sure I shut everything off. It's not like a one time thing, it's been going on for like 2 months now.
Do you have a router? Try my original suggestion as well of rebooting it.

Don't forget pingtest. And is this problem on a bunch of servers or just one?

Try messing with the network settings in Chris' configs.
Perhaps also try TCP Optimizer?
And do the basic maintenance stuff. CCleaner, Defrag, whatever.
Are you sure you aren't running any background programs while playing that could use bandwidth? OR maybe someone else is using your internet?
