I accidentally made all my .exe files open in Windows Media Center windows.

Basically, the OP explains it. I'm not quite sure how I did it, but I got an "Open With..." dialog box on an exe file and hit OK just for shits and giggles, setting all my exe files to open with Windows Media Center. I managed to solve that issue by doing a System Restore, but the icons for most of my programs are now the Windows Media Center icon. How can I fix this, and why are some, but not all, programs affected?

Just fixed it by undoing the System Restore.
Don't know why it worked, but it did.

Nope, you can't do open with on any of those, and exe doesn't show up in the File Associations settings.
How did you open your browser?
I call bullshit.

I already had Chrome open.

I ended up downloading a .reg file that fixed the .exe extension, but the icons were still fucked up.
Restart?

This, or right click desktop -> refresh.
