• Mocking Documentary: C.S.A. The Confederate States of America (Slightly Offensive to Some!)

:siren:Warning! The content of this documentary may be highly offensive!:siren: I recently stumbled upon an interesting "Mockumentary" showing how things might have turned out had the Confederate side of the U.S. had won during the Civil War of 1861-1865. You could say that this film is closer to reality than many want to think. The actual divergence of our timeline compared to others is when Judah P. Benjamin of the Confederate side journeys to Europe to gain allies in France and Britain. Seeing as in our universe, the British and French were appalled at the idea, seeing as they disliked slavery as much as the union. In the reality of the movie however, several French and British battalions help to win the battle of Gettysburg, a turning point of the war in both ours and their timeline. [release][/release] When the war is won by the confederates, many African Americans, abolitionists, and Unionists flee to Canada to escape the pillage and destruction of many northern cities. Lincoln is exiled to Canada and Harriet Tubman is put to death for here "crimes." [release][/release] [release][/release] As the North is reabsorbed into the institution of slavery, it becomes less of an economic practice and more as a cultural phenomenon. [release][/release] [release][/release] [release][/release] By the time of 1900, the "C.S.A." is invading South America, Mexico and much of the Caribbean islands. As a result, the slave trade is taken full advantage of and the practice of slavery is made even stronger. Also leaving the C.S.A. as the superpower of the western hemisphere and a "Tropical Empire." This is actually based on many of the plans of Confederate politicians and military. [release][/release] In an ironic twist, rather than Pearl Harbor being bombed, the "Americans" strike first. It seems in this reality Japan could actually be thought of as the good guy. Also, in a rather interesting turn, the C.S.A. allies with the Nazis, but instead of ethnic cleansing, the Jews are utilized as slave labor in Europe. It's never shown how the second world war ends though. [release][/release] Rather than a Cold War with Russia, we end up facing a Cold War with the Canadians. Maple syrup can sure be threatening, eh? I thought the parody of the Berlin wall seemd a bit similar to how many want to build something akin to that on the Southern border nowadays. You recently stumbled upon it? It's from 2004, nothing new
Saw this a while ago, it's an alright film, but the biggest flaw is the amount of stuff is assumes and just plain makes up.
Bolster the OP or I'm shuttin' you down. This place ain't a video dump!
Bolster the OP or I'm shuttin' you down. This place ain't a video dump!
What do you mean bolster?
It's weak. I haven't closed it 'cause this movie is pretty interesting, but if you don't provide some background information or write up some semblance of an OP, I'm moving this to the "flash movies and crap" forum, where you'll drop off the face of the Earth.
r.v. bol·stered, bol·ster·ing, bol·sters 1. To support or prop up with or as if with a long narrow pillow or cushion. 2. To buoy up or hearten: Visitors bolstered the patient's morale.
You just need to put a pillow under the OP! really you just need to add more details, like information about the movie, your opinion on what it's talking about, etc.
I'd be interested in a discussion about the film, but not many people have seen it anyway, so it's better if you go over the main points. Why did automerge break

You would rather?
You would rather?
He never said that.
I apologize if the OP sucks. I'm revising right now. Could we talk about the actual film? Oh fuck it. This is what I get for trying to share something I found with people who might actually be interested.
