TV ads prematurely thank congressmen for repealing Obamacare
Television advertisements thanking Republican representatives for repealing the Affordable Care Act on Friday has the conservative American Action Network PAC slightly red-faced.
President Donald Trump and the Republican leadership suffered a major setback in their efforts to repeal the Affordable Care Act when Speaker Paul Ryan pulled his bill to repeal Obamacare from the House floor after support began to crumble.
This is honestly the best bit of news to come from DC since November. Fuck Paul Ryan and fuck Donald Trump

I'd agree but I'm sure there's going to be a number of people who will see this and then think the AHCA is responsible for any good medical experiences they're having despite that not being the case.

There's kinda a big difference between claiming someone as President-elect when they're not and claiming they've repealed a law.

yeah ok cool good but both are still examples of celebrating early and thats the point

Tbh I'd go so far as to say that claiming the wrong person became president is a much bigger thing
unless the contents actually are about her being an ELECTEE, not literally ELECTED.

Technically they pre printed the issue because they thought they would need them, if you didn't know they also pre printed the Trump version. I don't have data, but even if they printed more copies of the hillary version, it's not like a dewey vs truman situation.

At this point this song is quickly becoming the international anthem of the world.
If aliens ever see a montage of human struggles, failures, and achievements this music will be playing in the background.

Just like how they pre-made the ad because they thought they would need it...?

print publications tend to write up and start printing versions for both candidates in advance, and when a winner is announced they release the appropriate stack. It's expensive but of all the breaking news, president elect is a big one to get out before competing news providers.
tl;dr That was a distribution error and it's an old process that's fucked up before

in the meantime somebody paid to take out TV adspace to wank about the repeal of obamacare under the direct presumption is was going to die and that's petty, foolhardy, and probably has some level of irony given how much it likely cost
"but the other side does it :((("

The thing with Dewey Defeats Truman is that the Tribune released the paper before they knew the actual results, because they thought he was going to win. The Newsweek mag wasn't sold as far as I know, it was printed and shipped, but not actually sold and put on shelves.
*note: I'm pulling most of this out of my ass*
The fact that corporations are thanking congress for this is pretty telling in a sad way.

Just the thank you part? Not the "we won't accept Obamacare premiums" part that came from many dentists, hospitals and other people in the medical field that had to learn an entirely new set of laws most complicated and arduosly long? I'm not surprised at all.
