I'm dumbfounded by the sheer amount of people that seem to just want this game to fail. It's not like it's even done anything offensive other than be published (with no control) by EA.

It's either that or it's "these fuckers made CoD into CoD, so I'm gonna hate everything they ever do for it".
I didn't have high expectations for this game, but it's actually pretty great
It's a great game.
I'm not a big fan of FPS games nowadays, but Titanfall is fantastic. It's one of the most balanced games I've seen in a while, especially for a beta. The 6v6 player cap with NPC unit support is really well done, you're always shooting at something and never really have a chance to stop the action and think. Very fast paced, but not to the point of being confusing.

It felt unique to me in that I could almost always be sure dying was my own damn fault. It's not overly easy to get the drop on people, nor is it easy for people to just up and kill you like they can in...well, pretty much every other multiplayer FPS. It just has a really nice overall feeling to it.

from what I understand, this game plays out how Call of Duty should have ended up if it didn't turn into a broken record after CoD4. I'm not a fan of the modern CoD's at all but the beta was pretty fun, nice arcadey fast paced action and the balance of only so many players is what makes it good.
A lot of the bitching is from people who think it's bad because it's not allowing 32 or 64 player battles. They don't seem to understand that it isn't a choice made because they suck at lifting a technical limitations or 'they're making it a clunky console game and porting it without improvements' or whatever, it's because they're tailoring the game to suit their intended experience, and that doesn't involve five dozen mechs cramming themselves into a meatgrinding chokepoint.
I also expected Titans to be massively overpowered, but they actually managed to balance them.
Only issues I've had with its beta were origin related. That, and I run it quite poorly.
I preordered it nonetheless. In fact, it's the first game I've ever pre-ordered. Never read anything about it prior or after the beta, beside a datamining thread on NEOgaf to see all the content pre-emptively.

I expected them to be taller than 7.5m
I wanted to try the beta to see if I'd like the game but didn't get in, definitely means I won't be getting this game at launch.

You do realize the Beta was open to everyone for two days, yeah?

Mmm...I don't know about "no control". EA still set platform exclusivity with MS for Titanfall, EA made Titanfall Origin exclusive (not surprised with this one) and Peter Moore said while they have no DLC plans to announced "but you’re familiar already with Battlefield 4 Premium." when talking to investors. EA has plans and they're not "totally hands off". It's a game being published by EA, I don't know why anyone would think they're just not going to intervene in some way.
see the difference is this time titanfall is actually really enjoyable and fun, I just think a lot of people aren't used to an AAA game actually being good and getting good reviews nowadays.
The beta ( demo ) was absolutely fantastic.
As much as the beta was enjoyable, very solid gameplay (i love games that give me double jump), i still can't shake the bad feeling i have for the game.
Something just doesn't sit right with me, i don't know what but it's making me very cautious

I mean creatively. The deal they have is, afaik, very similar to what they did with the valve console releases pre-portal 2. They control DLC release dates and probably quantity, but they don't call the shots in terms of what does and doesn't go in the game.

There was an open beta? I looked on origin but didn't see anything...
Nigga it ended last night
"We fought tooth and nail for people to hear about this game" Oh yeah because having the creators of Call of Duty walk into EA and telling them they want to make a CoD killer won't get them tons of publicity from EA.

remember this is the skilled part of cod makers
who made the game good
the same people who made cod 4 modern warfare 1
the shitty part is already killing cod them selfs.
He's SpartanXC9, this type of shit is to be expected.

I'm not saying it's a bad game you've misread me. They said that they had to fight tooth and nail for coverage when that doesn't make any sense. They created Call of Duty then left to go make a game for EA which means that anything they created would get coverage right away.
He's SpartanXC9, this type of shit is to be expected.
Hahaha, what did I do to make you mad at me?
I thought it was a great game, beta alone sold me on the full product. can't wait.
Some people seem to think that just because they made Call of Duty they're shitlords on the same level as Activision/EA Execs and they deserve all the shit they're getting. A lot of them aren't even giving it a chance.
As somebody that had some serious doubts after the whole "6 players max" thing came out and is thoroughly sick of Call of Duty and related MMSes and cod-likes, Titanfall is fun as hell. People should've tried it in Beta while they had the chance.
Nigga it ended last night
The open beta was only open to those who signed up on the website before registrations closed iirc. Not sure about the last day but that is how it was beforehand.
You do realize the Beta was open to everyone for two days, yeah?
You do realize it was only open for those that signed up on time since they didn't open it up for everyone on pc, only on xbone, yeah? No need to be like that especially when you're wrong. Jesus.

Yeah exactly, and I tried to sign up but couldn't get through to the website, it's still not properly loading for me even now that the beta has ended.
This is why I don't buy into the whole 'X game developed by these and those devs' 90% of the time...
Just because they worked on another game it doesnt mean their current is guaranteed to be good or bad or that they don't deserve credit for anything they do.
I played it not even knowing who the devs were, I liked it, I bought it, why do we need to get caught up in playground politics?

You do realize that the beta was completely OPEN on all platform AFTER they gave access to people who signed up. The last 6 hours of the beta I spent playing it with 5 friends who never signed up for the beta, it was simply in their account ready to download, and 3/5 of those account we're brand new. Yeah?

Fair enough, I didn't check if they opened it up for everyone in the last two days of the beta, nor have I seen it mentioned anywhere.
jee, thanks for the informative posts on a product that i'm curious about
'it's good' '<pointless arguing>'
i feel so informed about whether it's a 'look at me im the next call of duty' then dies at launch or whether it'll be around for a while
