Hello, I am not sure if this is the right section if not please say so. I made a minecraft server and I have to run it with a batch file. this means that the server can only run when I got my computer on and I activate it. Is there any way to let the server online 24/7 even if my computer is shut down?
even if my computer is shut down?
Are you serious? [editline]12th November 2010[/editline] The answer is No.
Yes I am serious? so all the servers that are online 24/7 have their computers on all the time?
I'm afraid so :smith:
How do you expect the server to work without it using any power? Actually, that would be amazing for laptops. Infinite battery life.
That's like asking how to game while your PC is off. Are you serious?
If you think the server can run , while the hardware it runs on is off? I don't think you should be hosting anything at all. People who host servers 24/7 usually use a spare computer to put somewhere, a vps, or a dedicated box in a datacenter somewhere.

Mother. fucking. tesla. coils. Millions of them. UNLIMITED AWESOME RAICHU IS VERY PLEASED AT THE PROSPECT OF UNLIMITED POWER
You can't run the server software without having some computer running it. You can have a dedicated machine that runs the server. AKA a server. You can run this server from your home or use the services of a VPS provider or Minecraft server provider (if they even exist)
