Black kid buys $350 belt from Barney's; gets arrested for it.
A college student from Queens got more than he bargained for when he splurged on a $350 designer belt at Barneys — when a clerk had him cuffed apparently thinking the black teen couldn’t afford the pricey purchase, even though he had paid for it, a new lawsuit alleges.

Trayon Christian, 19, a NYC College of Technology freshman from Corona, went to the Madison Avenue fashion mecca in April to buy the Salvatore Ferragamo belt after saving up his paychecks from a part-time job at the college.
But as soon as he exited the luxury department store, undercover officers grabbed Christian and asked “how a young black man such as himself could afford to purchase such an expensive belt,” according to the suit, filed Tuesday in Manhattan Supreme Court.
In my opinion its almost criminal for 19 y/o student to buy a $350 belt, but goddamn its his money.
Here comes the folks who deny systematic racism.
damn thats an expensive belt
Finally a reason to lock away Zimmermann!
THE MAN KNOWS NO BOUNDS!
Jesus christ, 350$?
ahah the belt even looks like a pair of cuffs
I kinda want that belt now..
That belt is fucking ugly. Pretty sure it's the fashion police arresting him for horrible taste.

I hate leather belts and I'd wear that.
undercover officers grabbed a Christian
God is on their side.
Damn thats pretty fucked up.
Seriously? Bring up Trayvon everytime we have a case of racism?
Why didn't they just ask the person who had actually sold him the belt instead having him arrested?
Why were undercover cops even keeping an eye on him...
“In spite of producing such documentation, Christian was told that his identification was false and that he could not afford to make such an expensive purchase.”
Without really checking of course.
I hope that clerk loses his/her job.
I think he did him a favor.

But his name is Trayvon
Sounds like it might be the best purchase he ever made, wonder how much money he'd get in a lawsuit
But his name is Trayvon
Oh for fucks sake, well I suppose its a little too late to change the title
But his name is Trayvon
No, it's Trayon.
For fuck sake Tyrone, keep it together.
damn thats an expensive belt
it looks cool as fuck but I'd buy it like, 20$ TOPS. Tops being, even if it had an insanely good sales pitch.
This is honestly a crime against fashion.
This is honestly a crime against fashion.
Its a great belt. Looks like something that could have a weapon hidden in it like in an action movie.

Justice4Trayon
Who would pay $350 for a belt?
The one I got from Wal-Mart works just as well.

But on topic, I hope the clerk is fired, because that is screwed up.

"All black people are poor"
the guy might as well call him an N. Like seriously. He just had to add that the "Young man" was also "Black"
Round of applause, you're a racist and a dick, guy.

we should be glad that he's not hiding it
makes identifying the awful people easier
also "dick" is a superset of "racist"
If I was black and rich, I'd dress casual and go into expensive stores and buy small but really expensive items and hope to get caught, just to troll racists. :v:
