I need help building a computer, with new or already owned parts.

Hello facepunch. I have decided to build a new computer with new parts, and parts I already have in my current one. I will tell you everything I have so that you can make the best decision.
So my real question is. Can I build a computer with new and already owned parts to save money, but still have a good computer.
I can of course sell my stuff that isnt used for more money to get more things.
To better help you may want to know that I play and own a bunch of games like, L4D1, L4D2, CSS, TF2, Gmod, and DODS. This is my first comp and I have always had it. I upgraded my comp with a Radeon x850 when I just got it. And then until a couple of months ago I had upgraded it with a new graphics card, power supply, and ram. So it was a couple of years.
I would like to have the ability to run my games on high settings while still maintaining a good FPS, and I would also like to have a faster computer in general.
I Also use the following applications:
- Photoshop CS3
- Sony Vegas 9
- Fraps
- Itunes
Those are the biggest ones I can think of other than steam and gaming.
I have possibly a 500 dollar budget for parts. Let me give you my comp info.
If all could be on Newegg that would be greatly appreciated. And I do live in the USA.

Extra Info - Me and my dad bought both the same computers together when we got em. His computer got a bad virus and bought a new one because he didn't want to spend tons of money fixing it so his old one has ram that is compatible with mine. So I could just take some of the ram. Or any of the parts really.
Thank you very much for your help.

I didnt get any help from FP, but my friend and I looked around newegg and found some parts. However I would like some second opinions on them.
I want to clarify that I am building the comp with these items (or new ones that somone picks for me) and then taking the other parts from the computer I am on. Like disk drives, hard drive, power supply, ect.
Also what I am aiming for with the parts is being able to run all my games maxed out, while maintaining a great fps.
Case -

Windows 7 -

processor and motherboard combo -

Graphics Card -
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102849
The total price came to $609.95. But I wanted to see if anyone could find cheaper, or better products than the ones I found.

You could also get the rosewill destroyer.

yes, lets back up the virus :downs:
Boot into safe mode, and install a anti virus from a usb drive. What part of that is hard?
yes, lets back up the virus :downs:
Never actually seen an instance of this. I've backed up my music numerous times after some devastating viruses without my other computers going up in :flame: . I could be sadly mistaken though, don't know too much about viruses...
Okay. Heres the deal. My dads Old computer has a virus or some shit, and I have seen how the computer runs. Its horrifying. I can try to get some sort of antivirus on it to get it offo. But I am extremely busy. So are you guys saying that I should keep my computer intact atm. And just take the parts from his old comp? I might be able to do that if I work on it.
Also. I think the rosewill destroyer will do nicely, as well as price.

However my main concern is will I be able to run it all on a 550W Power Supply?

I can add a new power supply to my cart. The last thing I want is my new computer exploding.

Easily the 5770 uses less power than the 4870 and also don't get diamond get the xfx one.
Alright I bought all my parts. I thank all of you for helping me out.
I got the rosewill destroyer, 5770, the processor and motherboard combo, and a 1TB internal hard drive. I took out windows seven for a new hard drive. I am gonna probably upgrade slowly overtime. SO when I do I will come to facepunch. Thanks again.
I have a Rosewill Destroyer. It's a very nice case.
