A teenage pro-life demonstrator who claims she was assaulted by a feminist studies professor at the University of California in Santa Barbara during a campus event this month told FoxNews.com she is more determined than ever to protest against abortion.
Thrin Short, 16, and her sister Joan, 21, had handed out nearly 1,000 informational pamphlets during a March 4 outreach event organized by the Riverside-based nonprofit Survivors of the Abortion Holocaust before things took an unexpected turn. Associate Professor Mireille Miller-Young approached the demonstrators and a group of students who had gathered and she became incensed, according to Thrin Short, eventually snatching a sign the girl was holding and walking off with it.
“Before she grabbed the sign, she was mocking me and talking over me in front of the students, saying that she was twice as old as me and had three degrees, so they should listen to her and not me,” Thrin Short wrote in an email to FoxNews.com. “Then she started the chant with the students about ‘tear down the sign.’ When that died out, she grabbed the sign.”
"Survivors of the Abortion Holocaust" what the fuck
While I disagree with the pro-life womans views, that professor sounds like a right cunt.

"hey guys i have a degree therefore i am correct!!!"
Why would a professor do such a thing
This is some "God is not dead" level shit
Anyone who is protests against abortion is an asshole.
With that being said, anyone who physically attacks a person for demonstrating their beliefs is also an asshole.
I love how Fox News takes wonderful cases of idiots being called out in front of crowds, and turns them into tragic episodes of assault and harassment against passionate, innocent American patriots.
But anyway, I'm glad they reported on it. Nice to see that the argument thus-far hasn't gone in the girl's favor, even if the professor lady sounds like a bit of a cunt. In an asshole-vs-asshole battle, I'd still join the politically rational one.

It's only going in her favour in "support" of her right to free speech. Granted she's an arse, but the response could have been a bit more mature.
This is why we need feminism

What The Fuck?
What The Fuck?
I guess they were aborted and survived
Universities should be a place where all ideas and beliefs should be allowed to be expressed. Conservatives do have a point when they say that universities are generally hostile towards more right wing beliefs, especially when it comes to social issues.

Didn't you know that allowing women to decide whether or not to keep a child makes you as bad as Hitler?

That's because most of their ideas are ignorant, heartless, or have been proven as ineffective.

People have different views on it. If someone is stupid and doesn't use protection, they shouldn't take a life away because of their stupid choice. This is just my opinion though. I know there are cases like someone being sexually assaulted and becoming pregnant. That's where the issue kind of becomes confusing for me.

11 million innocent babies
Clash of the nutjobs.
A new idea for Michael Bay.

It's almost as if the real world and education are naturally more "liberal" than the right wing like to think.
Funny that.
Just because ideas should be allowed to be shared doesn't mean they are exempt from people calling them out for being fucking atrocious views that are detrimental to us.
That's because most of their ideas are ignorant, heartless, or have been proven as ineffective.
As if liberal beliefs aren't likely to disenfranchise or fuck over at least a single group in the name of some modern "liberty" or ideal or something, too.
If we're gonna talk abstract philosophy, then it doesn't matter how "heartless" or "harmful" an idea is anyway.

What is free speech

The ability to criticise your government without fear of imprisonment and punishment?

Or anyone else.
Heh.
Feminist studies.
Pro-abortionist viewpoint:
"BAH BAH BAH! I need my 100% consequence-free sex as promised by the 1960s counterculture!!! But wait, what's THIS? An uwanted pregnancy? Sex isn't a 100% safe activity? Could it be that those people were wrong??? Nah, I'll just dehumanise the unborn child (and accept abortion) instead of re-examining my hedonist philosophy!!!"
saying that she was twice as old as me and had three degrees, so they should listen to her and not me,
By that logic, Rick Santorum is one of the wisest people in the world.

Alledgedly she took her sign, etc.
Alledgedly she took her sign, etc.
Seems like people in general would rather get upset than try to rationally explain why they dont agree with X.
Or anyone else.
Nah, pretty sure that only applies to criticism of the government, as that's literally the only place you'd need to be legally protected for saying dumb shit.

Obviously government funded universities don't count. ..

You realize what you just said? We're talking about the realm of American politics.
I love how the typical american reaction to anything remotely anti-conservative is some strawman to communism. You sound like a 16 year old.
Is it really right for the Church to have such a strong view on abortion if Jesus didn't talk about it directly?
Just wondering
