Oh god damn it, I love playing Mario Kart Wii online, still active as well.
I can't believe it's been nearly 8 years since the Wii was released.
That's weird Does it still work in Wii mode on the Wii U and DS mode on the 3DS?
I wonder if Microsoft will end their Gold membership online service for the XBOX 360 soon. This sort of thing don't happen until people stop buying the old gen consoles.
That's pretty dumb. I will miss those summers in which I used to play SSBB online or Mario Kart. Ah and also Metroid Prime Hunters...

Nintendo's online service was pretty bad, anyway. Any time you played SSBB, you pretty much just lagged your way through the fight. Sucks to see it go, but Mario Kart 7 is already out with much better online play for the 3DS, Mario Kart 8 is coming out in May, and hopefully the new Super Smash Bros will be out soon.

Also I'm not shelling out £100 odd quid just for to play some form of Mario Kart online again.
-that could've gone better-
Well fuck you too, Nintendo. Just because nobody wants to buy a Wii U doesn't mean you can bully the rest of your customers who still use the Wii. You may as well announce that Wiis and standard DSs will brick themselves after a certain date.
You overestimate how many Wii/DS games actually have online features. It's a free service, I'm sure at this point they aren't making enough from SSBB and Mario Kart Wii sales to keep the service going.

Nintendo shouldn't spend money on a outdated console, they are losing money.
