I've been playing Fire Emblem 4 with a translation patch and I've managed to lose 2 guys for not saving correctly. I was under the assumption that one of my guys would come back because he didn't really "die" and I managed to revive the other guy with a one-use staff. However, after that, I restart my save state if I lose a unit. The sad part is that one of the units who died was an Axe Wielder, and the way the combat works is Swords > Axes > Lances > Swords. At one point in the game there was an army full of lance wielders. So guess how angry I was when I realized the only Axe Wielder I had was dead.
