Professional wrestler CM Punk has issued an apology for telling an antigay fan to kill himself after a heated argument over Amendment One in North Carolina.
CM Punk wrote in support of marriage equality on Twitter Monday, calling Amendment One "ridiculous" and "an invasion of people's rights." He added, "North Carolina, why do you care if somebody wants to marry who they love? Same sex marriage should be legal. The fact that it's illegal is embarrassing."
According to the Bleacher Report, a fan countered by saying, "Man was meant for woman, and even the thought of homo's [sic] make me sick." CM Punk retweeted the message and added, "Kill yourself." He told another Twitter user who disagreed with him to "drink bleach," according to 24 Wrestling.
After Monday Night Raw, the wrestler apologized publicly and sent apologetic messages directly to the recipients of his ire. "I don't want you to kill yourself," he wrote. "I want you to better yourself. Just as I want to better myself."
Without condoning his statement, someone saying "homo's make me sick" is a pathetic excuse for a human being.

Homo's what?
Sounds like an average comment on youtube.
why apologize? obviously he didn't seriously mean it and fuck a prick like that deserves to be told to kill themselves
Why would the wrestler apologize? He did nothing wrong, and if anything, the fan should be apologizing. Our society is so ass backwards, it's ridiculous.
He probably was told to do it by the WWE to keep his job.
Well, can't say I wouldn't respond in a similar manner, that tweet he replied to was fucking stupid.

Because WWE want to maintain the image of being a family friendly organisation. Telling someone to ''kill yourself'' wouldn't go down well with its management.
Even though CM Punk could've said something else than "Kill yourself", the guy he responded to deserved it.
CM Punk of all people? Pretty amusing considering that he's supposed to be the role model of the WWE for kids with his "straight edge" tattoos and all.
CM Punk's always been a dick.
He's not really a role model, the straight edge is more of a condescending thing.

Don't worry, I spotted the irony too.
Also, the guy who he tweeted to kill himself replied
@CMPunk Gonna admit it was my fault, i apologize. Clearly you were upset by my tweet. #Sorry to you and your twitter followers. pz.
So yay, everyone's happy.
It's good that he apologized. In an argument like this, it's important to be the better man.

I doubt he actually means it, but kudos for having the balls to do it anyway.

Bullshit apology. "I'm sorry you were upset, let me regain a little bit of pride because the whole world now knows I'm a bigoted moron"
He probably was told to do it by the WWE to keep his job.
Implying the WWE would ever let him go.

Indeed mostly when he's been a heel tho.

No need to apologize imo. No need at all.
Actually, the homophobe commenter should be the one apologizing.

honestly i love wwe and hearing one of the wrestlers stand up for an important issue like this just makes me love them even more

I find someone telling a homophobe to fuck off to be far more family friend than someone who just accepts homophobes.

You don't know the whole story. That man has an actual condition where he physically gets sick around people who are homosexuals.
Its called hate. You might have heard of it.
EDIT: Whelp, look at all the boxes. Guess I'm not an internet comedian. D'oh.
shouldn't have to apologize for being right
Since the homophobe is clearly a WWE fan, don't you think it's a bit odd that he's "sickened by homo's", yet enjoys watching oily men in not much clothing wrestle each other?
