We finally got around to record a demo, 3 of our tracks for now. Please give some feedback if you don't find the very genre repulsive :)

It's not a genre I like at all but the production is of a very high standard.
I briefly listened to the first song - your sound really lacks the presence, the punch that songs of this genre need to have. It also seems a bit too slow and boring for a metalcore song. The riffs are solid though, reminds me a bit of Lamb of God.

We do have a more heavy sound than metalcore usually has. Actually describing this as metalcore is not accurate, we just use the term to eyeball the style. The whole band however are a huge fan of LoG, so we're very happy to hear that :)
I can only assume you're using DFH or something? Nothing wrong with it at all, I use it too, but the drums sound a bit robotic

Otherwise it sounds good
No drum machines, that's our drummer playing :) What's robotic about them? Too flat?
i think its really messy
i think you put too high of a standard on all the instruments, which makes them sound very 'jumbly'
think more levels
edited:
I play drums and it's the first thing I pay attention to in music. The first song sounds pretty good, but there is a part before the guitars get a bit louder at the start where the drums are just way too loud. I'm not saying the drums themselves are too loud, the levels are just off from the rest of the instruments in that part in particular.
Also, I feel the snare might be a bit too punchy that the cymbals get over powered.
Sounds pretty good, vocals don't drown everything out, which is always a plus.

Really really edited. Make them sound more real.
The vocalist should stick to the growls because those are actually good, his screams sound strained and ugly.
Excellent guitar riffs, but they need to be mixed better with the drums, the drums have too much presence compared to the guitars, and you want more guitar presence in a riff driven song.
Thanks for the tips on drum levels. The drums are not edited beyond pasting together seperately recorded parts, and there's only so much we could achieve with post processing the parts we've recorded.
The vocals are also not very metalcore'ish, growls aspire to be classical deth and screams are more black than most core counterparts, I guess.
If he wants to sound more black metally, he needs to shriek, not scream.
Love the first track. 3:10, amazing! I'm not much into metalcore, but first track is good in my book.
Have you guys tried messing around in some MeloDeath?

We want to keep this particular projects going in a lamb of godish direction. Most of us have other projects as well (blackened death, harsh electro). Currently no melodeath I know of, and I don't think it's gonna be anybody's next choice, even though we all like at least a few bands of the genre :)

I see, I see. Im just a sucker for bands like Disarmonia Mundi :P and I think you could get a nice balance between those growls, and some melodic screams or even cleanish vocals.
But keep doing what you guys want to do, thats what matters.
Very nice production value, as to the actual music I have nothing constructive to say because I don't necessarily listen to metalcore at all. But I guess I'll say this; your music needs to be a little bit more bold. Needs more umph, you know? The riffs sound pretty good.

Thanks :) We like the way the chorus for Denial works with the melodic vocals, so I'm probably going to be doing more of that in the future.

Thanks :) It is a constant issue of balancing originality/progresiveness/overall playing around factor with the music's impact. I think we're getting better at it, compared to some of the earlier tracks.
