Well, before I begin, I'm mainly just tired of how badly ArmA 2 runs on my computer. I replaced several components already (including my processor and video card) and have seen little improvement. I know it's not that optimized, but it is getting ridiculous and any tweaks I have tried have done nothing for me.
Anyways, I'm currently running:
CPU: Phenom II 955 BE Quad Core (OC'd to 3.7 Ghz) [Socket Type: AM3]
Video Card: 6950 2 GB (Unlocked shaders to 6970)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-MA785GM-US2H (Only has one PCI-E x16 slot and only supports up to DDR2 RAM)
RAM: Here's the worst one and I think is what is my bottleneck - I have 4 GB of DDR2 337 Mhz RAM. I will need an upgrade here.
Power Supply: COOLER MASTER GX Series RS650-ACAAE3-US 650W ATX12V v2.31 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply
So I'm mainly looking to get my RAM replaced as of now. Kind of looking to future proof it a bit I guess, but I'm not sure how I will do crossfire with a 6950 unlocked (Do I use another 6950 unlocked or a 6970?).
What RAM/motherboard combo should I look into getting and more importantly, is RAM even a suspect in bottlenecking my system?
Oh, and budget isn't that big of an issue, but do try to keep it as cheap as possible. If there is a significant difference in the quality and prices of RAM and Motherboards please let me know though.
