Hello, Right now I am using a Nvidia 9800gt. I have a budget of around $150. Right now, i am looking at the XFX 5750. Do you think the 5750 will be a better of a card than the 9800gt and will be worth upgrading? Edit: The rest of my Stats are CPU- Phenom 9600 Quad Oc'd to 2.8 Ram - 2gb ddr2 (only 32bit os.) 320gb WD Drive
I recommend this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150447&cm_re=5770-_-14-150-447-_-Product Yes. It is way better.
Thank you. I was going for that card, but the reason i am getting the card is that my birthday is coming up, and i wont have that kind of money to spend. Parents wont just give me money either, they always have to buy me something..
Oh. If you can't really afford $20 more, the 5750 is good enough. (My birthday was yesterday :D)
Don't worry, i'm trying! Ill see if i can get the 5770.. but if not, ill resort back to the 5750. happy late birthday, mines Saturday.

5750 is still better. He won't be paying for it, so why tell him not to upgrade?
5750 is still better. He won't be paying for it, so why tell him not to upgrade?
Better by what 1 frame here and there. Also it is still a waste of money if his parents buy it.
So you think that i really should just save another $20 or so dollars and buy the 5770? I'm wanting this also because i plan on playing Games that are DX11 in the future. Plus, Eyefinity would be nice since i play some racing games.

If you buy the 5750 and have had it for a month, your going to want to wish you saved a little bit more money for the 5770, which you could have had if you had it at the same time. If this makes sense.
Dont even bother upgrading, we all die thus the bible says we shall pray to him. AMEN
Makes perfect sense, thank you. will be talking to parents about this, Most likely ill be able to get it by just working off that $20-30 dollars
Your welcome :) I wanted the 4890 (little better than 5770, costs more), but it was too much money if I added it with the motherboard, PSU, RAM, and computer case I wanted.
I know that feeling, when i built my current system, i was going to go with 4gb of ram instead of 2gb, i just didn't have enough money. ( I paid for the entire system, Parents didnt help =))
I have 2GBs. It's fine for gaming, but not so great when I export media and such. Gonna be getting 4GBs in a few months.
I have 2GBs. It's fine for gaming, but not so great when I export media and such. Gonna be getting 4GBs in a few months.
Im also going to 4GBs soon. Got to make the change to 64 bit though before i even think about it though.
IMO an upgrade from an 8/9800 isn't really worth it until you get to 5850 and above, until then the performance increase is nowhere near enough for the cost
Alright, i am picking up a 5770 this friday =).
Alright, i am picking up a 5770 this friday =).
Lucky. My mom says enough money spent this week for me.. but next week I'll talk her into buying the 5770 or possibly the 4890. (Have to negotiate a deal, I may have to give her some money to make up half of the total amount)
I have 2GBs. It's fine for gaming, but not so great when I export media and such. Gonna be getting 4GBs in a few months.
what kind
what kind
random access RAM
random access RAM
it's random access memory
random access RAM
random access random access memory? lolwut?
random access random access memory? lolwut?
it's alright. at least he is learning.
it's random access memory
it's a joke
random access random access memory? lolwut?
it's a joke
it's alright. at least he is learning.
you sure are acting cocky for someone who just missed an obvious joke but don't worry, I'm sure at least you're learning
Oh. If you can't really afford $20 more, the 5750 is good enough. (My birthday was yesterday :D)
:toot:

Seems the 4890 is a better deal for the price of a 5750-5770 for better perf. (but without DirectX11)
what kind
DDR2. If I have enough I'm gonna upgrade my motherboard and get DDR3. But we'll have to wait and see for that.
Ahh okay, just wondering what you were getting.
