I hate that people will actually send death threats to other people over something as small as being disappointed at a game.
i hate how whiny everyone is. like the internet is their place to bitch and moan after a long day.
"trole xD"
When people come up with and spread stupid memes (grumpy cat is a prime example) to the point that they spill over into daily life. Oh, and Youtube comments.
The "lol it's the internet" excuse. Like it's any excuse to just piss all over the internet, and be a jackass.
PewDiePie. [editline]16th August 2013[/editline] Or rather, his following.
Kids with microphones
garry
Fanboy wars
People who take the internet too seriously.
Memes. Particularly Forced/long dead ones.
Self entitledness and general dickery.
Something i don't hate about it, i can easily escape everything everyone is saying by simply clicking away
Intolerance over taster/religion/ideology.
-People not being able to get points across or have a proper argument. They argue blindly with no facts to prove what they're trying to say, or when someone disagrees they insult them or get defensive and try to make themselves appear more intelligent or superior. -Bandwagoners. Yes it happens in real life too for artists etc, but I'm talking about all of the sheep who follow one smart person's idea just because they made a well written post about it so they follow eachother like lemmings and can't form their own opinion. -People who try to act cute with people they don't know irl for attention. -People who try to copy how nubs or people with shitty English type to try and be funny. "Hai mens mai naem iz Jake XD" - I don't think I've seen any noobs or foreigners type like this, rather cunts who try to act cute/funny.
People who think being a member of a forum (any forum) somehow makes you part of the "internet culture" or something. Yeah there is a bit of history but it's hardly some secret culture and it certainly isn't 100% memes. Speaking of memes I hate people who either try to revive them or try to force new ones. They're best when they just happen on their own and then disappear.
Internet culture is a disgrace and something I'd love to keep as far away from as possible. Also, it's home to many communities full of deviants and rejects which give the sane members within them a pretty bad name.
It's too addicting. Everybody is addicted to Internet now-a-days.
People who situate themselves on a pedestal during arguments and there's literally nothing you can do because anonymity Like seriously if you were having an argument and you pulled some holier than thou attitude with the person, you'd probably get hit after the 5th time
-When a certain collective of users gets over confident and does something stupid, eg. when Reddit started a witch-hunt and were adamant they thought they found out who did the Boston bombings, who turned out to just be several innocent people, one of which turned out to be dead in a ditch before the bombing itself took place (I think) -People who take the net too seriously, like people who insist on making almost everything a long and heated debate (often stretching out for days) and even taking it as far as sending vitriolic private messages over some guy's opinion of digital rights management or GM food or something idk, and then calling the guy out as an idiot or not having a good opinion anyway when he stops replying. If the other person doesn't want to talk about it anymore, let it be and get over yourself, fuck, like what were you trying to accomplish other than reinforce the fact you're a belligerent arsehole with too much free time
lack of tolerance over religion, political ideologies, etc, should be a place that's welcome to everybody/ and this may be slightly contradictory to the above, people also need to learn to keep their mouth shut, think about your audience, it's the reason no one knows who the dixie chicks are anymore.
Oh, and Youtube comments.
gamer/internet culture in general sucks pretty hard it encourages people to be cynical and condescending because that's apparently what's hip, except that if you acted like that in real life no one would even talk to you for being such an insufferable twat in other words it's a place for unlikable people to pretend they're cool
People saying they hate memes then post reaction images/obsecure 4chan memes.
The tendency to demonise/ad-hominem a position rather than counter it. For example; look for any neckbeard/fedora picture with some awful atheist quite, reverse image search. Chances are, it didn't originally have that quote. Then there's the "Facepunch is so liberal/conservative/racist/politically-correct" cries, which changes every thread to suit the content, seemingly unaware of how they're describing the supposed hivemind of Facepunch as a different thing each time. I can understand being annoyed with a certain argument being presented ad nauseam (hell, i'm guilty as fuck of that re. conspiracy theorists), but churning out equally bullshit stuff in an attempt to make assertions about the character of all people who hold that opinion is rather tiresome to behold.
That so many people are wrong That so many people are so far up their own fucking arse that even with logic and reason against them, they will always be right in their eyes.
Uninformed children.
gamer/internet culture in general sucks pretty hard it encourages people to be cynical and condescending because that's apparently what's hip, except that if you acted like that in real life no one would even talk to you for being such an insufferable twat in other words it's a place for unlikable people to pretend they're cool
Ah, that reminds me Internet dorks who rag on about "fake nerds" All these "fake nerds" are doing is appropriating a stereotype because "nerdy" things are considered hip and intellectual (made attractive in pop culture even), which ironically is why these ""real" nerds" like to refer to themselves as such which is stupid because nerd and geek were originally epithets for abuse and comes across to me as a means to fit in with a group of other insecure cynical asshats who feel their "culture" is being threatened. There are no official set criteria to be a nerd as such but there are rather prominent cliques who try to set a standard apart from being heavily ivested in a subject commonly regarded as nerdy at the expense of friends, family and hygiene only to be (supposedly) debunked because the 90's isn't my favourite decade and Ocarina of Time isn't my #1 game. Sorry dickheads but it isn't up to you or your bandwagon to decide who is what or not based on their opinion on anime or politics, shove it Hope I worded that right
Those grammar nazis And also all of these (dis)like-bar jokes on youtube
I hate that people will actually send death threats to other people over something as small as being disappointed at a game.
Those people don't know what life is.
