In the dinosaur kingdom, the raptor reigns as a pop-culture bogeyman. While not as big as the T. Rex, the feathered creature had a mean set of teeth and claws. But there was at least one refuge from its tyranny: the air.

Now, however, scientists have discovered a new fossil that lays waste to that pleasant fiction. This new raptorial dinosaur named Changyuraptor yangi not only flew — it had four wings. And those wings were studded with the longest feathers any dinosaur has ever worn, said lead researcher Luis Chiappe of the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles. “I’ve never seen anything like it,” he told The Washington Post. “It is a stunning specimen and it was stunning to see the size of the feathers. This is the dinosaur with the longest known feathers — by far. There is nothing like this by a very good distance. The feathers were one-fourth the size of the animal.” Chiappe paused for a moment. “It’s just wonderful,” he said.
[t]http://img.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp-content/uploads/sites/21/2014/07/Changyuraptor_S.-Abramowicz.jpg[/t] Source [editline]22nd July 2014[/editline] Jesus christ, the picture was fuckhuge.
Nope, i'm out. Groundling raptors were bad enough, but this one takes the cake.
Looks like it's back feet are backwards
it looks so badass. it looks almost like something out of dungeons & dragons or w/e.
create a druid and have that as your companion.
In come the DM rules lawyers to say 'but muh imbalance'
In come the DM rules lawyers to say 'but muh imbalance'
tbh i don't think it'd be OP, something this size would have two attacks (and would only be able to use one per round) a bite and the claws, both dealing 1d4 damage at max.
Nerds. on topic however,
“microraptorine"
is kind of a really cute name for a beast that could kill you in a heartbeat.
Remember seeing this on LMAO pics years ago. What is this drawing from anyway? (Sorry if hardly related)

It didn't fly so much as it did glide. So wings on the back are cool for that I guess? I dunno ha.
Looks like it's back feet are backwards
That's kinda why they're called the back feet, okay?
