Though this tablet craze I have been wondering are tablets useless they seem odd looking and clunky when you could just have a smart phone.
I am not talking about tablets you do art on I am talking about tablets such as the Ipad etc.
I like my iPad.
Depends on what kind of art. If it's serious, then no, tablets aren't useless. If you're doing silly MS Paint art, you could do without.

It's good for people that do a lot of reading online; kinda like a Kindle or a Nook, only for basically anything over the internet. Other than that, there's not really any practical use for it that would make it a more reasonable buy than say, an iPod Touch, or a laptop.
I find them pretty useless, if I'd want to do very simple things, I'd just use my ipod touch because it's way smaller, and if wanted to do other things like word processing, I'd get a netbook. I wouldn't get a tablet just to read either. They're really uncomfortable

iPad works with VMware View or Remote Desktop... Somewhat defeats the purpose of carrying a laptop.

Do elaborate. iPad takes up less space.
I'll elaborate later when I'm less frustrated by your claim.

Custom title fits.
Fine. Basically, that would only be a valid statement if the entirety of your laptop usage consisted of checking your email and watching porn.
I'm a computer programmer, so I do a LOT of typing on my laptop. I also play a LOT of games on my laptop. I also do not want to rely on an internet connection to access anything on my computer. I also do a LOT of graphic design work on my laptop. I'm also writing a novel on my laptop. I also do a LOT of music production on my laptop. I also do a LOT of 3D modeling and design on my laptop.

K, well for you that's understandable.
I'm a systems engineer, so I have other uses for it.
I'm browsing this while drawing with my tablet. :smug:

On my laptop.
No, they have their uses.
iPad is quite useless but so fun, my family has one.
No, they have there uses.
their
I personally don't have a use for something like the iPad. As of now they're all just fun gadgets to me.
I don't give a flying fuck.
I know many IT people who only take their iPad with them on day to day things and when they need extra power or a specific program they bring their laptop.
