I'm looking to build a PC for under $2000, and I have a rough idea of what it's going to be. Basically, I just want advice, which of these i should throw out, ect. I expect this one to last a while without having to add much, so perhaps keep that in mind.

Around 1500 or so, right now. Obviously there are a few things in here that have no relation to the build itself, ignore please.
I'd get an SSD to boot from and to store the programs/games you use the most often. Also, how many +12v rails does the PSU have?
I've got an SSD up in there in the middle.
I don't really know enough about PSUs to know where to find that, here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371031
with a budget like that, you're much better off going with an Intel i5-2500K
I replaced the Phenom with the i5, the price is almost the exact same.
On that budget you can probably fit a 570 in there.
Get a different hard drive and SSD.
Crucial M4's are good and get a Western Digital Black 2TB.
The Hitachi Deskstars are nicknamed deathstars for a reason

The newer revision of the Deskstar are actually good (shock horror!). They just aren't great. I've had a Deskstar working flawlessly for over two years now, with the only fault being the fault of the SATA standard connectors. The thing that lines the data cable up and clips it in place snapped.

So a 570 is better than a 6950?

After making the suggested changes, the price changed by a whole $10

Yes, but close competition, see benches for yourself. I think you meant to compare the 570 vs 6970 or 560 Ti vs 6950 1GB.

I asked because I had a 6950 in my build up there.
